The Beatles – We Can Work It Out Lyrics 14 years ago
It was Pauls way of apologizing to John and trying to keep their friendship intact. At this point the two of them were at ends over who would take over for Brian. Paul wanted Lindas father, John had someone else in mind and didn't like Mr. Eastman. This caused a rift between the two of them, but I guess they worked it out for a while. Peace.

It's a slide. The kind that you find in any kiddy park. The song was written BEFORE the Tate murders. Peace.

This was John talking about how his ideologies from the peace and love days were just a lot of B.S. and he was changing his thinking to become more conventional if you can believe that. "Count me out,in" Peace.

The Beatles – She's Leaving Home Lyrics 14 years ago
The song is Paul's attempt to write like Rogers and Hammerstein. Paul admitted this in an interview. He said that he and Lennon always wanted to emulate the song writing of Rogers and Hammerstein. It was supposed to be a play in song form. A story. I know a lot of you will find this hard to believe but it is true. Peace

The Beatles – Come Together Lyrics 14 years ago
First of all I want to start by saying to everyone-Please stop putting drugs into all of your explanations. I realy don't think that The Beatles spent most of their days stuck in a drug filled haze. It is pretty hard to fully function when you are perpetually stoned. I grew up in the 60's and became a teen in the early 70's and I went throught that phaze of my own life. If you want the truth watch the movie "Imagine". John explained that the song was inspired by Bob Dylan who told John to write nonsence lyrics because people, like you, will almost always interperate it wrong. It was a goof. It doesn't mean anything. It is a bunch of nonsence sentences that were put together. It was meant to mess with your minds and as I can see it worked. Now here is some thing that is totaly true about this song. It was the last number one song recorded by the Beatles as a band. This is a known fact. The whole Abbey Road album was the Beatles allowing Sir George Martin to once again do his studio magic. Before that John had told Martin "We don't want any of that studio crap any more, we want to just record it straight as we play it". This is what was said before they did the Let It Be tapes. Martin would not produce them anymore if he couldn't work his studio magic and the band realized that they need him to do his thing. Trust me I am one of the biggest Beatle fans here. If you want drug fueled stuff check out the "Rubber Soul" album. They did this right after Bob Dylan turned them on to pot. This and "Revolver" And yes it was Dylan who smoked the first joints with them and Dylan that exposed them to weed. Peace.

The Beatles – I Me Mine Lyrics 14 years ago
George said that it was about the change taking place in the world. As the 60's started to come to a close all of the hippies were turning into yuppies. This ment that their attitudes were changing from a communal lifestyle to one of capitalism. Greed was taking over. It went from a "Free love" to a "Visa and Mastercard" mentality. I think that George was right because the 70's has been called "The me decade" because many people at the time became ambitious to the piont of pure greed. Peace.

The Beatles – Come and Get It Lyrics 14 years ago
I heard that it was about Apple Corps and how the company was hemoraging money. At one point the company was giving tons of money to various groups for different reasons. They were trying to help out other bands and also trying to divest their assets. One story tells that when checking their books that they had discovered that they had paid for a few busses and didn't know where they went. They had so much money that a whole lot of people were bilking them out of millions, but they had so much that it didn't realy matter because they had plenty. I don't know how true that is but I do believe that it was someone close to them had said this. It might have been Neil Aspinal. I don't remember. "If you want it here it is come and get it" is Pauls way of saying "What the hell, take some money, everyone else is. Peace.

The Beatles – Carry That Weight Lyrics 14 years ago
I believe that Paul is telling his band mates that even if they would break up that they would always be Beatles in the fans eyes and that they, the four of them, would have to cary the weight of being a Beatle for the rest of thier lives. To all of you who have to say that all of their songs are drug related you either have to do one of two things. Either stop taking what you are because it is some BAD stuff or start taking some and mellow out. I would suggest a little weed and try staying away from the other stuff. Peace.

The Beatles – Baby You're a Rich Man Lyrics 14 years ago
As far as the Beatles are concerned Paul once said that it was written about George who was always being very tight with his money and complained that his share was a lot less than John and Pauls. This song is basically telling him to shut up and that he is also rich like them. As far as the comment about "Dear Prudence" being about the Yogi, sorry, the Prudence that John wrote about is Mia Farrows sister Prudence Farrow who was with them in India. "Everybodys got something to hide except for me and my monkey", that was about the Yogi and how he used to talk. "Come on, come on..." is how the Yogi would try to get them to go up in a helicopter for a ride with him. Peace.

The Beatles – Hey Jude Lyrics 14 years ago
Here is sonething that should get a chuckle out of some of you. When I worked at Rockefeller Center in the early 80's I had to work outside one day on the Prominade. I was standing near 5th ave when some Religous nuts started to preach aboout how everything in this world is here because of Satan and that popular music is one of the tools that he uses to destroy the youth of this world. They went on to say that this song is about drugs and that the line "let her under your skin" was about shooting heroin into ones body. That was one of the most rediculous things that I ever heard in my life.
