I always took this song to mean that Desperado must choose a path in life. The "easy" path has no true boundary or rules; however that road is not the right path, Desperado needs to stop and look at how the "easy" path causes more pain than it does pleasure (no boundaries or real home, means no way to settle down have a family. become the mature adult in society). The singer is trying to get Desperado to realise that he needs to stop wandering around and finally commit to something. Perhaps Desperado has a great girlfriend/boyfriend and is reluctant to commit fully to the relationship because of some queen of diamond (a "great" job, another person, an old dream that wants to be chased), so the friend is telling Desperado to ignore that diamond and look at what he has, what is laid upon his table. |

I think, and its just my thought, but I think the song is about any secret. It could be something you only tell one person because it is eating you up inside and the person who knew before destroyed that trust, so you are telling this person in hopes they keep it. The secret could be anything from cheating to abuse, to a medical condition, or anything else. They never give any indication that it is about cheating so it could be anything. They say "I'll keep you my dirty little secret" meaning they are going to keep the secret it doesn't mean the secret is a person. |

The song is not about Bulimia. It is about love. The phrase "mama mia" is an Italian phrase that is often used when one is completely surprised or shocked. The person is saying "mama mia Here I go AGAIN with this guy/girl who I know I should NOT BE WITH, BUUUUUUT I like him." Mama mia is the title and the key phrase of the song. its not just "mia" its "mama mia". Mama mia= oh my/good lord, goodness gracious/holy crap/etc. |

Irregardless of the war it refers to. I always thought the song was about someone recalling a former flame(possibly their spouse) being involved in a war(possibly a civil war or a war in their own country), and the person recalling how brave that person was, or a person remembering a friend from a war(like a fellow soldier) who was braver than the singer was in facing the "buggles and drums in the distant"(the opposing army). Just my interpretation though. |

actually its more like "decent cover" of a 1960's song. The song "i want candy was ORRIGINALLY done by the strangeloves(a boy band) in 1965. So the 80s version is a crappy cover. |

parts are in spanish but "tu amor" is almost universal. I know in italian "tu amor" is "you love", and in french only "tu" is translatable to "you" but "tu amor" isn't just spanish. most lyrics are spanish but "mi amor" and "tu amor" are both spanish and italian. |

Maybe its cause i'm from the 90s but to me the song was and always will be about the lose of our "imaginary" friends from when we were little. As well as the fact that there is a movie also called "puff the magic dragon" that goes along with the song and explains/shows that the song is about the lose of our childhood innocence. |

i think its an interesting song. its a nice little follow-up to "it's my Party". Guess the question remaining is- "did she keep johnny or break up with him soon after getting him back?" and yes I know that lesley gore is a lesbian i'm reffering to the character in the song taking "johnny" back. but all in all this was and is a very good song done by a very good artist. |

i don't think you have the right idea with the song. first of all he doesn't say "daddy's little girl is ready baby" he says "daddy's little girl is now my baby". and second of all he's saying that she's ready to be her own person now that she is of legal age and doesn't have to live by anyone's rules. but that's just my interpretation of it. |
