Pearl Jam – Jeremy Lyrics

its possible to link the two songs on the album 10, Alive and Jeremy, together, since its following a dysnfunctional family storyline.. In fact the whole album could be basis of a movie script, much like Tommy by The Who was done. |

Judging by the lyrics and theme, Alive and Jeremy could be a story about the same person. |

Pink Floyd – Brain Damage Lyrics

What happened to musical genius nowadays? Seemed to have flourished only for a decade, between mid60s to mid 70s. Very few works art come close to DSOM, a perfect match of music, harmony and lyrics that cuts deep within the psyche of any human, even if translated in other languages.
Coming to the topic, i feel the lunacy part is a fitting end to the futility of life and existence. For a short while in great sphere of time and space, we are allowed by nature to exist for a very short time to see if we can improve ourselves and our environment, only to find out that our actions and our very existence doesnt make any difference. The lunacy of it all is that we think so much ourselves !
But if we can create art like DSOM, if atleast it pleases us, i dont mind going mad. |

indeed. its a good song for a prelude to make up sex. Alternatively it could be played everytime the United Nations meet as it seems history keeps repeating itself. LOL |

Another perfect song to play in the waiting room of a divorce counselling center. After listening, hopefully, the marital dispute is settled followed by some rough make-up sex. LOL |

Eagles – Hotel California Lyrics

I guess i could bring most of your theories together. The song is not about just one thing, but a combination of the drugs, music business success in California, and its subsequent perks like girls. Then it follows with act of conniving agents who try to kill one band over another, but in the end music still remains priority, hence the long riff at the end.

i think its about the life of salesmen. When they do well, everybody likes him cos he shows confidence and pride, but when he loses ..he takes the long way home. |

The Rolling Stones – Satisfaction Lyrics

When, or if, aliens from another world find Voyager 2 and listen to this song, which is lodged inside, they'll likely sympathize with us, since the search for satisfaction and vanity is an exclusive characteristic of intelligent creatures,... or so i think . |

My first post on this website, and for the song that got me onto thinking about lyrics per se, and not just its music. Although the song is screaming of Tolkien's The Hobbit, almost word for word (not LOTR btw) , everytime i listen to the song i get the feeling its about someone leaving a steady relationship for the freedom of solitude. |
