Art Garfunkel – Bright Eyes Lyrics 14 years ago
I saw this song in a movie as a child and had genuine feelings of melancholy. I was profoundly moved.

"Nowadays" online flaming has a sort of feel like that 6 degrees of Kevin ha-ha 'someone died that's funny stab someone in the face'/'lets bomb a village' sort of thing... Very different feel "nowadays". Part of growing up, I guess.

Tori Amos – Your Cloud Lyrics 14 years ago
Fucking angels using humans as targets. Cartesian jokes and polychromatic harmonious mockeries. I have a mind to fuck Tori and teach her a lesson... but she'd pull some Oedipal nonsense and we're into mental jujitsu.

Bat for Lashes – Trophy Lyrics 14 years ago
Possibly sex (love) as undervalued - fur and gold animal passions...? The video I saw had her costumes that are American Indian influenced... I'm sure I read that she developed a character while in the US. Heaven and Happy Hunting Grounds are practically synonymous. I like the song but am wary of adoring. Gold to black : reverse alchemy.

Tori Amos – Beauty of Speed Lyrics 14 years ago
Swift word choices. Light is a universal constant while the material bodies merely slow reflections of that universality...
"...in a way I wasn't lovin'..."
Like: the "changing" as a subjective reference to Doppler effects.
[Not liking: Changleing Winter Faire Court subjects "Dopplgangering."]
Makes one wonder what exactly she meant by Canopy and Gauge. We vs. I. POV changing.

Tori Amos – Taxi Ride Lyrics 14 years ago
I couldn't understand her lyric audibly: "I'm glad you're on my side still" Tori bends words to unrecognizable lengths at times.
All taken ironically. Dead fags and cigarette puns. How you want to burn a fag when people try to manipulate your emotions with fake empathy. "I LOVE you." "I'm on your side!" (Side/sidhe? faire occult puns?)
Fare is Fare.
(Also the association with dreaming and confessionals in taxis)
I thought Scarlett's Walk had some Americana pretense, but this song feels very Anglophilic. London-y.
