Frank The Baptist – Signing Off Lyrics 14 years ago
Umm yea, it may not be about suicide. It could be about getting drunk or just disconnecting your mind from troubles, seeking refuge in something. Like shutting down.

Frank The Baptist – Signing Off Lyrics 14 years ago
For me, it is about thinking of committing suicide. 'Maybe I won't sign off tonight'

In his dystopian surroundings, one has to keep everything inside (questions, thoughts, feelings etc) for whatever reasons. If he/she can calm down these frustrations that are accumulating inside, he/she might not sign off (commit suicide).

He/she can see in the darkness, by 'seeing' he/she means 'believing that he/she sees' something. His/her eyes are shrouded by biased beliefs and see only 'woe', so this needs a change or striking will just discharge temporarily that feeling of frustration.

When you breathe in, you take deep breaths to calm yourself down in order to get a grip of the situation and start to fully control not only your thoughts, but your feelings too.
When you breathe out, you just let off the steam and stay calm, which again brings us to the thought that suicide could be avoided.
Since breathing is so repetitive, it's possible (I know, it happened to me) to always change your mind about what you want in very brief intervals of time. In one moment you are filled with ambition and then you just feel down because there is no hope. Of course, these mood swings are caused by too much thinking. Way too much thinking.

Moonspell – Tired Lyrics 14 years ago
This song is so awesome. When I started listening to it for the first time, I felt it was about the exhaustion an apathetic person feels when he/she has to live. You know, when you're apathetic, life seems to be very tiring and exhausting.

Of course, the exhaustion could be caused by things far more deeper than the above mentioned thingy. I just have to figure it out, well I might already have an idea but I just can't put it into words yet...my entire life stopped after listening to this song for 3-4 weeks (depression kicked in), so I didn't really have the opportunity to decipher it. Hopefully, I will be able sooooon!

The Crippled Climber will mend his limbs and climb faster than ever! His thirst for excellence seems to have been rekindled a bit. This time no more paralyzing perfectionism. :)

Low frequency type of thinkers? I beg to differ. Most of the times the doubters and unbelievers engage in deep meditations (most of the time philosophical) regarding the human condition, since they do not consider ridiculously primitive and religious beliefs that give them the answers right away as being valid, so they have to search for them themselves.

Rammstein – Seemann (English) Lyrics 14 years ago
For me, it's about offering someone help, to be there for him/her in a time of need.

The helper beckons him/her into his/her own boat, which might be a safer boat or merely for the fact that he/she can't deal with the upcoming storm (problems in life etc) alone. It could also mean that the person offering help says "come to me, I offer you the possibility of rest during which I will take care of things for you, just to get some pressure off you". So, also offering some time to rest in order to regain powers.
Furthermore, the helper warns the one in need of help of the forthcoming storm which, by the looks of it, may be too overwhelming and there will be nobody there to help when things get a little harsh.
The helper suggests through a rhetoric question that there is no escape from the problems, the one in need can't evade them wherever he/she may go. I dunno what 'wind of autumn' means, sorry, but its position in the entire allegory suggests that it's some sort of energy (like hope) that will keep things going and moving, most likely towards a positive outcome.

Thanks to my subjective approach and my laziness to think about it more thoroughly, I can't figure out the meaning of autumn, mother being cussed or whatever. *sigh*

Loneliness.

Now, the way each person relates this loneliness to the world and other things is a question of perspective. But mainly, it's about loneliness, imho.

Mushroomhead – Too Much Nothing Lyrics 14 years ago
The lyrics describe perfectly the situation I was/still am in.

In short: there's too much nothingness; empty life or at least you feel like your life is empty. This sense of emptiness could be a result of apathy and indifference, which may be linked to depression.

'i'm always excusing myself, but now it's getting hard to tell the reason why i even care, increasingly i'm unaware' is about perfectionism and procrastination, imho.

'instead of bettering myself i'm crawling deeper in my shell', he considers that constant self-improvement is something normal, but now he just can't do it, most likely due to fear of failure. So, he just doesn't do anything and crawls deeper in his shell. He is crawling deeper, hiding from who knows what.

'the whole point that i am alive seems to escape me at this time time', since progress in life has been rendered absolute and it has been replaced with stagnation and aimless wandering in his thoughts, he can't find a reason to live.

'i've never strayed far from the grave nothing too much i need to get up off the ground nothing too much to force myself to make a sound', he's been always near the grave, never lived life fully and always thinking about how mundane and purposeless life is, so he was 'half dead'. Then he ends with the usual conclusion: that he has to do something to get out of this state. Obviously he does not feel like living, since he is just too apathetic, so he KNOWS that he HAS TO get out of this state of stagnation, which is only possible by forcing himself to make a change.

I wonder, is it ok if we are 100% subjective with song meanings? Cause this song describes perfectly what I was going through/am still going through.

Anyway, a few points are merely personal views and I am fully aware that they lack objectivity. However, the main idea of the consciousness of one's apathetic stagnation and procrastination that keeps the person in the position to constantly question or just wonder why he even cares (or is alive), hand in hand with the recognition of the fact that one keeps looking for excuses for not doing anything, finally leading to the conclusion that this can't go on forever and one must force one's self in order to get out of this vicious cycle still stands.

Björk – Undo Lyrics 14 years ago
It can be about first time sex.

It can also be about inner struggles regarding personal identity and the masks we wear in society in order to be accepted. She encourages us to get rid of these masks and 'undo' all our learned behaviors that don't reflect our true feelings, but reflect what we think society deems an acceptable reaction to certain events/things (and thus we adopt them). In short: for people with low self-esteem, who step over their own true identity just to be accepted by others.

Just BE yourself.

4 Non Blondes – What's Up? Lyrics 14 years ago
From my perspective (cause I feel the same way):
It's about accumulated frustration and hopelessness, an aimless life and depression, life in a rut and vicious cycles.

And thus a change is needed. She tries to make a change but her efforts prove to be of no use, so she needs something huge like a 'revolution' (not literally, just something huge that changes many things, a big BOOM!) to break out of those vicious cycles.
