Metallica – Welcome Home (Sanitarium) Lyrics 14 years ago
I believe the song is about someone who has gone insane by his own life. He believes that we are all crippled by the limits of reality. He realizes what an outcast he is in society and takes notice of how everyone calls him crazy. But to him, they're the insane. Eventually, he is drawn to homicidal thoughts, believing that he is doing the world right by "freeing" the others of their limits of the real world, thus preparing to kill by the end of the song.

I believe it's about abandoning others in pursuit of your own feeling of belonging, only to realize that the feeling cannot be obtained.

Maroon 5 – She Will Be Loved Lyrics 15 years ago
This song really sticks with me because of how I relate to my interpretation of the lyrics. It reminds me of someone who's fallen in love with a girl. He knows that the decisions she's making aren't the greatest and is going to be hurt. He wants her to realize how he feels about her, and that no matter whether it ends with him being with her or not, he's always there for her when she falls.

Alice in Chains – Would? Lyrics 15 years ago
I think it's about someone knowingly making a bad decision that they're going to eventually regret but feel they must do. In turn, they're asking another to see their situation the same way they did in order understand why they keep coming back to the same problem. The end of the song has the person asking if they've gone too far to turn their back on the situation and if, in the long run, they have abandoned the recipient of the song. The recipient is then asked that if they were to be alone, could they see things from the same perspective as the Main person of the song.

I believe this song is about taking the fall for someone else. Being the hated one for another's actions and simply accepting it.

Metallica – Whiskey in the Jar (Thin Lizzy cover) Lyrics 15 years ago
I know this may sound a little dumb, but I always liked to think of this song being sung in the perspective of the man in prison telling the others he shares a cell with why he's in there in the first place, with the Whiskey being an actual bottle of Whiskey that is being passed around by the prisoners.

Metallica – Fade To Black Lyrics 15 years ago
It's about someone who has given life their all and has never received anything to live for in return. They've only drained themselves of their own spirit any reason to live. Misery pursues until they decide to end their life. The person second guesses their self but ultimately decides they feel that death is the only way to reach peace.

Personally, I believe it's about being deceived. Discovering that what you once thought was a way out was only another problem.

It's about someone who is on the verge of death not wanting to die, I think.

Metallica – The Unforgiven II Lyrics 15 years ago
I think this song is about a man who has murdered his love, but cannot accept it. He mourns the loss of her and tries to blame others for her death until eventually realizing that he was the murderer. After coming to this realization, he decides never to allow anyone to know of the truth. The listener is told "The door is closed for all your eyes, but now I see the sun." He is telling the recipient of the song that while they are given false closure, he sees the true story of the situation as clear as day, which he cannot take and grows angry over.

Metallica – The Unforgiven III Lyrics 15 years ago
To me, this song is about a man who has cast himself away from society and the ones he loved in favor of greed and materialistic ways. By the time that he realizes what hell he has brought upon himself, it's too late. He tries to repent, but no good comes from it. It is because of these things why he is set to live the remainder of his life alone, searching for something that will never come.
