Yeah, it's nice to see Claudio revisit a Shabutie song. When he changed from Star Cecil to that cover that I can't remember, he said he hated the song so if you saw it in concert that may be the last time you ever will. |

The only original song on the 1973 Dylan compilation album. Seems pretty autobiographical if you ask me.
Sarah Jane is Sara Dylan?
Dylan had four children with Sara, as well as adopting her child from her previous marriage. |

I'd imagine parts (riffs, certain lyrics) of old material were reused. Strung Short says "But I'm a bastard" and The Final Cut as "I'm the bastard"
So probably lines and that a reused, but not that much. |

A little live piece they played in the early to mid 70s (and maybe afterwards) after Locomotive Breath, Aqualung, or Wind-Up.

In addition to the others the "Did you hear baby..." is Ian talking about his sucess. He probably refers to himself as "baby" due to the fact he was the youngest of three brothers. The other Anderson boys were much older than him, and left the house while he was a toddler. |

Sossity is a play on word of society. Tull's guitarist Martin Barre made thought the same mistake, and m bought a boat and named it Sossity. After Ian told Barre him the actual meaning, he sold the boat! |

I'd say the song takes place 1850s to 1880s. Somewhere along the American settling of the West.
I would say it goes to a biased point of view to the Native American's favor. I would say it was written in this point of view due to Harris's nationality.
