Maybe Bradford is talking about his illness (Marfan Syndrome) and how it made him turn to God, as he feels he has no human love in his life. It sounds like he's looking into the future, at death. This song is definitely from his heart. Nothing about it is fabricated, and it expends on his pain and fear. Deerhunter/Atlas Sound never disappoint me.

This song is one that will forever evoke memories of two years ago for me. I was a senior in high school and I had some of the best days someone could possibly have; the guy who liked me/I liked put this song on a mix cd he made for me. We hardly talk anymore because our lives are so different and we live 300 miles apart, so hearing this song really puts me in a vulnerable emotional state... Those were truly the days.

the beginning with the wind instruments and the soft guitar makes me feel as if i'm falling in love. so beautiful, and somewhat tragic-sounding. it also has a summer-y feel to it, as if this is taking place at a summer camp. i cannot begin to describe how sufjan stevens' music affects me; what i can say for sure is that i experience so many different emotions, and it takes a true artist to make music like this.
