Today we had an english class and we read about conspiracy theory about John Kennedy Junior. And after I searched more... I saw that syntagme- closest thing to royalty -which is used also in this song. And that parents' pattern that is mentioned, like they all in the family were in politics. After JFK Junior died he ended that tradition. I assume that song isn't about that :) but it definetly reminded me of this song when I heard it today. I just started to sing that part in the classroom... |

Yes, it is definitely about what happened 1972, but it's their interpretation of Spielberg's movie- Munich. Main character has a wife and they are apart for some time,and so on...and than he returns... Even if he done a lot for his country he doesn't feel well,he has PTSP...but his wife is really a support he needed. Beautiful movie, when you see it,you'll understand maybe better... :) Sorry, I'm from Argentina... |

And that sexual relationship, you mentioned, maybe she is satisfied if he stays with her only because that, 'cause he is all she has. Sorry 'cause my English is bad... One thing I've noticed about Cardigans is that the mood of the songwriter has been changing during the period from "Emmerdale" where everything seems so light and happy, ...but "Long Gone Before Daylight" has some of the saddest songs I've ever heard. The best example is this song... I think it's about flashback... It seems like she touched the bottom and she is full of regrets... I think it's all about regretting... Now he is over and done with her, but she still loves him. And after all that she's been trough she is desperate and nothing has sense anymore. Oh, gosh, when I've heard this song I cried... Very sad and powerful... |
