The Beach Boys – Kiss Me, Baby Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The lyrics explain themselves. It's been almost fifty years since this song was originally performed, yet it still holds true: we've all had nights like this. |
The Beach Boys – I'm So Young Lyrics | 14 years ago |
So much emotion. |
The Beach Boys – Hushabye Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This song is amazing. It's a cover, but I think this version is more powerful than the original. |
The Beach Boys – Magic Transistor Radio Lyrics | 14 years ago |
All in all a very strange collection of tracks. |
Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds – Fallin' in love Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The opening to this song is great. |
Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds – Don't Pull Your Love Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This is just a great 70s song. That's all there is to it. |
Frank Zappa – Jonestown Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This is a pretty sinister-sounding instrumental. |
Frank Zappa – Electric Aunt Jemima Lyrics | 14 years ago |
So catchy. |
Richard Marx – Should've Known Better Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I'm not sure why, but it's pretty catchy. It sounds like it should be in some late 80's movie. |
First Class – Beach Baby Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I wouldn't say the song sucks. Sure, there's really no deep meaning, nor are the lyrics that amazing, but it's still a suitable song. Just carefree 70's pop. |
The English Beat – Rotating Head Lyrics | 15 years ago |
The instrumental version of this song was used in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, the scene where he's racing his parents home. |
Al Stewart – Year Of The Cat Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I don't know if anyone was wondering, but the line, "..strolling through the crowd like Peter Lorre contemplating a crime," refers to Peter Lorre, a German film actor in the 20's and 30's. In one of his most famous movies, "M," he played a murderer, hence "contemplating a crime." Being Jewish, he fled to America to escape Hitler, though I doubt that that has any relevance to the song. |
Blues Image – Ride Captain Ride Lyrics | 15 years ago |
The whole "too busy watchin' those old raindrops fall" part references BJ Thomas' version of Burt Bacharach's song "Rain Drops Keep Fallin' On My Head," another single from 1970. |
The Doobie Brothers – What A Fool Believes Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This is probably my favorite Doobie Brothers song. It's all so chill: the melody, the lyrics. As weird as it sounds, I feel like I'm transported back into 1978, a year I was never around to begin with. Truly a warm, amazing song. |
The Association – Never My Love Lyrics | 15 years ago |
It's so calm. A truly wonderful song. I actually like the Hammond organ in the background. |
Peter Gabriel – And Through The Wire Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I don't know what it is about this song, but it's my favorite one from the album. |
Fleetwood Mac – You Make Loving Fun Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song reminds me of a distant summer day. I have no idea why. |
Fleetwood Mac – Gypsy Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I love the guitar work at the end. Also, the line, "Lightning strikes maybe once, maybe twice," is very pretty. |
David Bowie – The Secret Life of Arabia Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Easily my favorite song of the "Heroes" album. So...memorable. |
The Gap Band – I Don't Believe You Want To Get Up And Dance (Oops Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I really don't think it has a meaning. It's just a great funk song. |
The Gap Band – Party Train Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Funky shit is right. This song is great. |
Andrea True Connection – More, More, More Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song has an interesting history. Andrea True was living in Jamaica at the time when there was an attempted coup against the government. As a result, people were not allowed to take money out of the country. True hired a guy and financed the song herself as a way to get her money out. A big gamble, sure, but it looks like it paid off in the end. |
Pink Floyd – Paint Box Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I second that opinion. |
The Alan Parsons Project – Standing On Higher Ground Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Yes, this is a great Parsons song. Overall, the "Gaudi" album seemed very weak. However, upon further listening, I've come to appreciate the quality of some of the songs. |
The Alan Parsons Project – What Goes Up Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This, combined with the "Voyager" intro, makes for a very eerie yet cool song. For some reason, the whole "Pyramid" seems very eerie to me. |
Frank Zappa – A Nun Suit Painted On Some Old Boxes Lyrics | 16 years ago |
More proof of just how hard it is to follow what's going on on the album "200 Motels." |
Frank Zappa – Porn Wars Lyrics | 16 years ago |
It's on "Zappa Meets the Mothers of Prevention" |
Frank Zappa – Cosmik Debris Lyrics | 16 years ago |
That whole line about a real poncho or a Sears poncho is also in "Camarillo Brillo" on the album "Over-Nite Sensation." Just thought that was a fun thing worth noting. |
Wang Chung – Fire In The Twilight Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is my favorite song off The Breakfast Club soundtrack. So upbeat, fast, and fun. |
Fleetwood Mac – Beautiful Child Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song has it all: depth, the haunting voice, haunting melody. I think the whole Tusk album is underrated as a whole. :-( |
Jackson Browne – That Girl Could Sing Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I know it's really cheesy and 80s, but I like the beat to this song. Lyrically, it's about this guy who knows a girl but she moves on (perhaps she's more of a freespirit type who is always moving?) and he just can't get her out of his mind. |
Oingo Boingo – Goodbye-Goodbye Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I really like how they fit this in at the end of Fast Times at Ridgemont High. |
The Alan Parsons Project – Stereotomy Two Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I guess this song is just a reprise of the title track, "Stereotomy." |
The Alan Parsons Project – Stereotomy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Okay, I think I got it. From what I can tell, the underlying theme of the album "Stereotomy" is celebrities and how they are kind-of molded and interact with society. Looking at the lyrics, I think this song is about how actors become canvases; the writers invent characters and then use the actors to carry them out. Again, I'm not sure...just a thought. |
The Alan Parsons Project – Beaujolais Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Just a thought, but could this be semi-representative of those celebrities that are recognized by character only rather than by their real personality? |
The Alan Parsons Project – Vulture Culture Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Personally, I think this song is pretty straightforward. A description of the high-society and how they are often pictured as ignoring the common man. |
