I agree that the song is about the emotional hangover after sex and drugs. Its about feeling empty and depressed because not enough drugs and sex will fill that empty void. Its a great song. I didnt like i when i first heard it, but i ended up really loving it after listeing to it many of times. I think the song would sounded much better if Brian had some chorus or echo effects on his voice, but thats just me. And i agree with Tim Burton-esq feeling to the song. Thats the first thing that popped in my mind as well |

Has it occurred to anyone that this song is simply about the climate apathy that's ingrained in American culture? Thats what i believe this song is about. Its a satirical song about living in a culture that doesn't give a shit about anything. |

This song means so much to me. You just dont want to conform, but the materialism, the commercialism, the superficial lifestyles are overwhelming. Hardly any creativity and individuality tolerated in our society. You want to maintain your dignity, your integrity, your inner spirit and your inner child. But its hard, very hard. |

The song is pretty much about true love of the truest kind. Finding that special person you know that already exists somewhere on this planet. Its just a matter of hope wether your path will one day cross with that person. Its facinating to think about.....yet sometimes a bit sad, lol. Thats what makes it one of best love songs ever written. :-) |

I think its a song where the circumstances of your experiences & environment becomes too much and you detatch yourself from it pretending your not there. I get the impression that Thom might have suffered from a near nervous breakdown during the OK Computer tour and this song is based on that experience. Its an amazing song though. I love how Radiohead touches on subjects not many others bands/artists dare to. |
