the best song everrrrr.. luv u audioslave >.< it's definitely about LOSS .. loss of a close one, loved one .. first he talked about how he use to get fed up from things between them and every now and then try to end it.. that his lover got use to it and can see that coming each time they are go thru hard times.. then he mentioned that this is the reasn ppl end up lonely. after that he start thinkin of the real reason behind his loss n was never really sure.. n then he says that's why he is going insane and will never have an end.. she will always be there in his heart. he is saying i can tell u why am a shadow in the sun , meaning that he is fading (shadow reflects dark and slight light) while sun refers to the great shining thing he use to have which is their love .. now he is just a shadow :( in the following stanza he describes how he is getting insane .. how it's like inside his head whenever he remembers what they use to have.. Great song :") answering (TooHardToLetYouGo) I think ppl around them has to do with their breaking under.. I think the couple are deeply in love clear when he says(falling off a building) " the building" stands for their strong love, steady & firm. "look at them running off the sidewalk" He wants to say that everybody runs from the side walk (normally everyone runs away from falling apart) but his point is that how could they do that while are the reason for pushing me and you to the edge and make us fall separated from each other by FORCE!!! "could everybody standing around us, could everybody drown us here just looking through the looking glass" All they doing is keep us fall looking through the looking glass not doing anything about it.. then he talks about their falling, how bad it is "bricks are falling, the shades of grey" and then he wants her to grap any string of hope when he said "look at the shallow, the shallow water, that comes on me walk to the water, walk to the water, shed through the looking glass" he wants her to help him do anything about their seperation though his tone sounds that there is no hope but still he is hangin to any and wants her to do the same.. So he says (not alone) cuz he knows they will always love each other no matter what and deep inside their hearts can feel each other together or apart :( So touching.. the lyrics affected me deeply :( loved it |

I totally agree with HOTTEST SINGLE .. I think she cheated on him first and she told him all about it and they moved on with their relation pretending that he forgave her but actually he couldn't, he cheated on her and kept doin' bad stuff behind her back n now he is admittin all he did cuz he doesnt like it !! (But the nose part at the beginning of the song is screwed up.) lolzzzz HOTTEST SINGLE .. I don't agree u with this part though ;P I loved the lyrics |

I think this song is about a couple who are going through rough times for a long while. This guy knew there was something wrong going on for so long and trying to figure things out and fix them. She confessed all she did, she've been lying to him for so long & each time things go bad she just run so far away. He's hoping for amendmentnd and says "but you don't"meaning you are not trying !! He feels everything between them is a lie but still he is giving her a second chance. He says "you left me haunted" not knowing what went wrong with our relation and even though I kept trying all the time. In the second stanza, he says that all the voices and choices u have will always be there inside you and you will always follow them flying away from me. He wants to say that I'm not the one for you, I've never been enough for you that u always follow these voices, running to other things !! In the third stanza, what he meant is that she is hiding so much from him & now that she conffessed he wants to give her another chance and start all over again "but you wont" meaning I'm sure u will not try again, therefore, why would I give u another chance ?!! "I saw you pray for change ...." he wants to tell her that all she do is just hope n pray for things to change but when it comes to taking actions she just walk away cuz deep inside her he is not the thing she wants and he says he knows it thats why "ur alone now" he wants to tell her that he is not staying. In the fifth stanza, he wants her to know that he is fed up with this feeling and asks her if she feels alone being without him and tellin her that he is no more having that feeling, on the contrary, he would feel alone when she is around cuz he no long feels her!! But I'm still in you somehow I never left at all Now I'm stealing you too low So my voice is all you know he is sure he will always be there inside her somehow cuz he is certain that she've been feeling his love for her and will always regret losing him. I loved the song, it's one of the best songs I've ever heard.. I actually dunno if it was sung or written by someone else but I think everyone has their own way of interpreting the meaning of music, it's the first time i heard it so it came to me like this: It is about a guy who is pssessed by the love of a girl which he can't seem to control. he is talking about his memories with her (not because she is not there anymore but I think he is talking about his memories when he first met her and how their relation seem to be perfect then) describing how he spend all his nights thinking about the past days. he says "would I spend forever here and not be satisfied?" meaning if I knew i could spend forever with you, i will be satisfied cuz this is all he wants.. he says he been always betryed and strumbled by things in this world and always searched for the truth and so he doesn't know whether this girl is honest with him or not but all he knows is that her words keeps him alive though she speaks in riddles & rhyms to him cuz he is in deep luv with her that he believes everything she says. he says though it's so aching to breathe her breath which i think means (being in this relation not knowing if she feels his love anymore) he is trapped in this thing cuz he is so possessed by her. he says he is wandring in the night cuz it makes him feel safe & every single night he is afraid of the morning, afraid to be disappointed by the harsh reality that she doesnt love him anymore... thats clear when he said "into the sea of waking dreams" he is scared to know that he is actually drawning in a sea of waking dreams he made up himself which he follows without pride (not knowing whether he is following a true thing or just dreams).. he is saying there shouldnt be anything standing between us & if i just knew that i wont be denied by u, i will be always the one to kiss u so hard, take your breath away, wipe your tears. he is always going to protect her and all she has to do is just close her eyes n relax cuz he will always be there.
