Ringo wrote this song in Sardinia. Peter Seller lent them his yacht and they went out for the day. They told the captain they wanted fish and chips for lunch. And so when lunch time came around they ate the french fries, but then there was this other stuff on the plate-it was squid. they ate it and thought it was okay but a little rubbery. ringo and the captain were out on deck talking about octopuses. He told ringo that they hang out in their caves and go around the seabed finding shiny stones and in cans and bottles to put in front of their cave like a garden. Ringo thought this was fabulous... |

Paul wrote this song he said that he showed up at John's house and he had a drawing that Julian had done at school with the title 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds' above it. Then he and John went up to John's music room and wrote the song. ... Paul remembers coming up with 'cellophane flowers' and 'newspaper taxis' and John answered with things like 'kalleidoscope eyes' and 'looking glass ties.' they never noticed the LSD initials until it was pointed out later- by which point people didn't believe them. |
