The deep end sounds inviting And she's already in Always quality writing.... Great jam, reminds me of a fall trip I took at a time. |
Tove Lo – Not on Drugs Lyrics | 9 years ago |
They're fine actually.... {{shivers}} off word haunting. <3 Addiction is a funny word. |
Tove Lo – Not on Drugs Lyrics | 9 years ago |
I thought it was just a-lone rather than just in-love.... Or just 'a loan' in terms of you're just using this fake relationship to help yourself and don't actually care about the artist.... but either way this homophony is pretty wild. |

Drake – Find Your Love Lyrics | 9 years ago |
All these reviews are kinda depressing... I will give you points though. Nobody even mentioned the chorus: It's more than just a mission (hey, hey, hey) You hear but you don't listen (hey, hey, hey) This was the part that caught me... back in the day and still, def good inspirational vibe. |
Ingrid Michaelson – Time Machine Lyrics | 9 years ago |
This song is just worth a comment. Great writing and I like her vibe. |
Panic! at the Disco – Build God, Then We'll Talk Lyrics | 10 years ago |
"Well you see what happened was..." |
Green Day – See the Light Lyrics | 10 years ago |
"The song doubles as a reference that mass media has lost all meaning and also a symbol that Christian's war has ended." Hmm, never would've gotten this. Nice interpretation, man. |
Jay-Z – Holy Grail Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Sorry, I thought we were hating today. |
Florence + the Machine – Cosmic Love Lyrics | 10 years ago |
"I took the stars from our eyes, and then I made a map And knew that somehow I could find my way back" Replace map with man. Boom. "New" creation myth. The feminine find it's way back. After staying in the darkness with (who?) for assumed master plan reasons. This is deep. I heard it as 'you are a revelation'. I'm just curious who or what the you is. |
Tool – 4 Degrees Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I was trying to make neuropsychological hypothesis that would've been at best a part of the issue. Equal rights and treatment for everybody regardless of sex(ual preference), gender, race, class, language. |
Tool – Right in Two Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Great and pretty quintessential Tool at the core. Props to Danny Carey, drums are awesome in this jam. And the lyrics give you a bit to think about. On a side note, if we are a product of evolution, I do wonder whether it's necessary to put the if there to be PC but anyway; we're bound to carry some of the instincts of our ancestors in addition to physiology. Theres a concept of the 'monkey mind' in buddhism which may be easily related. I do like the religious/spiritual tones Tool takes which are often powerful mediums for asking deeper questions about morality or the human condition. |
Awolnation – Kill Your Heroes Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Wow, great interpretation. Along the lines of what I was thinking but you incorporated some other important ideas I identify with but wouldn't have been able to pull into this. Thanks! Rock on. |
Tool – 4 Degrees Lyrics | 11 years ago |
@AquilusDomini you're totally right. I was ill when I wrote this and it was poor wording. What I was trying to get at is that the negativity directed at homosexuals is tied to imagery that is evoked unconsciously in some people... I still suck at this. |
Matt Nathanson – Come On Get Higher Lyrics | 11 years ago |
This song reminds me of fall somehow. |
Sara Bareilles – Lie To Me Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Killer song. That is all. |
Local H – Bound For The Floor Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Exactly what I was thinking, kind of harsh but.... yeah, good interpretation. |
Incubus – Favorite Things Lyrics | 11 years ago |
'I'm thinking of my soul's sovereignty' Every man/woman is his/her own universe... 'Too bad the things that make you mad are my favorite things. And I'm so happy.' Love the tone... Like what's your prob? I'm just doin my thing here.... You don't like it, leave me alone. The end. |
Jack Johnson – Crying Shame Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I think what he's proposing, though this is only my own person interpretation or what I take from it, might be a little deeper than that. I'm going to try and break down where I went with it... 'Is it in our blood?' - I think you're probably right, we fight just because we are humans.... We evolved from other primates, they fight, as do many other animals, in one way or another, over what & why I'll leave to the anthropologists & zoologists. "Or is it in our fate?" I want to think he's asking, is there anyway we can avoid these wars and tragedies. Which is a HUGE question. It is easy to say, yeah, humans have the ability to overcome our differences. But only in certain situations. We can compromise, communicate more effectively, empathize and we even have the potential to understand maybe even prevent ills that cause people to shoot up playgrounds or shopping malls. Potential is the key word there though. Is it really feasible to think we can avoid these kinds of tragedies while preserving diversity and not imposing on people's freedoms? |
Jack Johnson – You and Your Heart Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Also, kings don't always suck. History and all that.... I just don't want to be one. Done now. |
Jack Johnson – You and Your Heart Lyrics | 11 years ago |
That was a really poorly thought out comment. I'm starting to think blame is a precursor to amending a situation. If I'm way off base, which I often am.... would love to hear other viewpoints. |
Brandy – Top of the World Lyrics | 11 years ago |
"Don't understand why people Think I don't have friends Who knew me bad when This was my dream nothing has changed I still do the same things" Agreed w/ladynausea^. Should be *back when* though. |
Incubus – A Crow Left of the Murder Lyrics | 11 years ago |

Rob Thomas – I Am an Illusion Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I kind of feel like after being put through the wringer time and time over again you want to blame but it doesn't help and you realize you're the maker and answer of all your problems. Deep shit. Can always expect that from Rob T. |
Evanescence – Hello Lyrics | 11 years ago |
"Hello I'm your mind giving you someone to talk to Hello" Ok, this song hits me hard. I'm bipolar, and my mind needs things to play with. Like playing games within my head to cope.... I often will twist words, lyrics, or phrases other people say, use them as support, self-correction, sometimes spin them with symbolism. Kind of like poetry. Its one of the greatest coping skills I've developed but it also can be dangerous. Sometimes I can't control where my words are directed and it ends up causing a lot of pain, often without my knowledge which is the worst. I've gotten pretty good at controlling them on my own, I just need to know when I've offended somebody.... "Don't try to fix me I'm not broken" ~ Just differently abled lol... |
Green Day – East Jesus Nowhere Lyrics | 11 years ago |
that could be a stab at racism and the 1970 separation of black and white peoples. the first line, stand up all the white boys, is like saying "you are white, and a man, you can fight in this war because you are fit enough", and sit down all the black girls could be like saying "your black and a girl, you practically can't do anything". ~ That's what I came here to find out. Have we made enough progress? We know it can be fixed very easily but 'the powers that be' seem to have something to gain from keeping racial conflict a constant issue. |
311 – Flowing Lyrics | 11 years ago |
"Focusing your mind to create a spin as you fall asleep" Awesome. I relate. Nice interpretation. |
Owl City – Fireflies Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Hey you got it too! Its something about pantheism, I think. |
Tool – 4 Degrees Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Alright. So I just wanna comment on hetero/homo tug of war that is still going on in society today. Gay people need to understand and respect that heterosexuals may find their sexual acts disgusting. Disgust is a powerful emotion. If we can realize that its not about we are as people but more about the imagery. Just like homosexuals may find certain things disgusting about heterosexuals, its not about who's right or wrong its about people and human nature. If that sounds disgusting to you.... Try to focus on yourself because nobody can hurt you but you/your brain. |
Paramore – When It Rains Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I'd like to think the line "I never saw it comin..." Has a juxtaposed meaning... Sort of like 'Hi again.' |
Paramore – All I Wanted Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I agree. Phenomenal. I'm obsessed so I'm glad she has things going. I should probably never meet her, wouldn't be fair to me lol. |
Breaking Benjamin – You Fight Me Lyrics | 12 years ago |
"Can't we live a life of peace and happiness? I don't think so" Love this line. I think of someone that dreams of peace only to find the reality isn't so pretty. We as humans are competitive and at times destructive. Kinda sad, but true. Fantasies are necessary, vital tools but when approaching reality its better to face the facts than be blindsided. |
Incubus – Nice To Know You Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I remember reading some comment that some interesting soul thought this song was about catching a beautiful girl's gaze on the street and there's some brief moment of a strong connection and then you just move along... Like namaste. You rock. |
