Miley Cyrus – See You Again Lyrics
|
The songs on Meet Miley are still written by the same team of people that write Hannah songs, so, no, she didn't write most of the songs on this album, but coming from a country background we don't expect her to write her own material. A bulk of the songs are remakes or songs written for other artists that didn't quite work out, just like the country music scene. I feel kinda bad that Miley didn't make this a double genre album rather than a B-side to a Hannah soundtrack. |

Miley Cyrus – East Northumberland High Lyrics
| 16 years ago
|
The song is more about a guy who isn't quite over the girl he dated in high school. Consider that the people writing these songs for Miley are in their 20s and 30s, so she's in high school yet singing about being out of high school. Whatever.
The best part of this song is the "Rock n' Roll! Roooooooooooooooooocccccckkkk n' ROLL" AutoTune stretch during the fade out. |

Spice Girls – Move Over Lyrics

Here's a tip: Don't put your commercial jingle on an album. I hear this song and all I can think of is all the old Pepsi Generation Next commercials from 1997, which started in January 97 and climaxed to a Spice Girls commercial in September 97. |

Mariah Carey – For The Record Lyrics

The theme to Mariah's perfume. Which will be outdated when the perfume stops selling or is discontinued.
For the Record is pure novelty like the Spice Girls' Move Over from the Pepsi campaigne in 1997. |

Mariah Carey – Side Effects Lyrics

It's another song about Tommy (rolls eyes).
I thought she got over this with Charmbracelet and Rainbow. Why hasn't she moved on yet? |

Lindsey Buckingham – Go Insane Lyrics
|
The chorus of this song was eventually turned into the chord progression for 'Time Bomb Town'. Listen closely! You can sing along to "I go insane, like I always do..." in between verses. It's cool! It gives both songs a different level and meaning, making TBT a sort of "sequel" to Go Insane.
Just a little triva for ya. |

OMC – How Bizarre Lyrics

I always thought it was Xena, not Zina.
I was under the impression that this was just a lazy summer song about going on a road trip and encountering odd things along the way.
It's also incorrect that we got this song in 1997. We got it during the summer of 98. I remember it well because I somehow remember the weekend it began to impact... |

Mariah Carey – Breakdown Lyrics

*sigh* Again, overrated tosh.
I've listened to Butterfly a ton and I STILL don't get what's so great about it. I understand if you're in middle school, but when you're 20-40 years old and still find it deep/meaningful, what the hell, people, what the hell?
I still don't get the hype behind this album, it's probably Mariah's silliest album of all and yet every frickin' Lamb on the planet thinks that it's the greatest. Maybe if I had the brain of a 10-year-old I'd like it. |

Mariah Carey – Whenever You Call Lyrics

I notice on here that the only Mariah songs that get many replies and get the "deep meaningful and I relate to it" crap are the Butterfly tracks.
I hate to tell you all, but you've been brainwashed. Butterfly is depressing and overrated. |

It's an okay song, but it works better as an epic dance mix. Same goes for Through The Rain. |

Mariah Carey – Honey Lyrics

It's a song about cumshot. Mariah just wants a guy to fap hard and jizz his load all over her.

Mariah Carey – Can't Take That Away Lyrics

I just know that this comment will be followed up with ones from crazy Mariah "lambs" telling me she's the greatest ever and OMG you're a hater and just "jeeluz". BACK OFF. It's constructive criticism, ya loons!
Ah, yes, Mariah's 1000th self-indulgent freedom and "Look at me I'm biracial" anthem. The cover to the single is pretty goofy, too. This is from an album that cannot be taken seriously in the least. Rainbow was just part of one of the vainest years in 90s music. |

Benny Mardones – Into The Night Lyrics

This may as well be the 4Chan Official Anthem and let Benny dress up as Pedobear.
BTW, Benny fans are still the most batshit people I'll ever see on the internet (Next to the Mariah, Britney and Michael Jackson fans). He's a dried up old dork. Get over him. |

I'd still like to know who the song is about. There has to be someone out there on the internet who can point out clues based on the lyrics. |

Natalie Imbruglia – Wishing I Was There Lyrics

Lily Allen's 'Take What You Take" is lifted directly from this song. Why? Because I get "Take What You Take" stuck in my head and it mutates into "Wishing I Was There". |

I finally realized today that the "G" key design is a variation of the Greek Key design you see on jewelry, except the pattern has been reversed so it becomes a "G". |

Robert Palmer – Simply Irresistible Lyrics

I like how people like to focus just on 3 of Robert Palmer's songs (At least in the US) and just talk about him being dead all the time.
Come on... where are the real fans who have actually heard great recordings like Sneaking Sally Through the Alley, You're Gonna Get What's Coming, I Dream of Wires and Some People Can Do What They Like? |

Timbaland – One & Only Lyrics

I liked this song up until it was playing when my car rolled over a few weeks ago. I was sort of a fan of this song, but now it's a little traumatizing just to think about it, so I can no longer listen to it. I can still listen to all the other songs on Shock Value, though. |

Third Eye Blind – How's It Going to Be Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
A lot of people look for the "meanings" in this song, but how about the feeling? Where were you when you first heard the song? For some odd reason the songs off of 3EB's debut album really takes me back to the better days of middle school, before teenhood set in and my school life got fucked up. |

Third Eye Blind – Jumper Lyrics
|
LOL @ most of the people commenting on this were too young at the time of its release to understand it. I was in 6th grade when this song came out. Quite a change from all the Ace of Base, Hanson and Spice Girls being played on the radio in '97. That year was a total rift between the change from Alternative being the Pop standard to Teen Pop being the standard and songs like this really stood out. Jumper can be compared to Matchbox Twenty's 'Push' and '3am'. |
