I agree with Matheson, Vanilla Ice completely ripped off the piano bit off of the song Under Pressure.
This will astound you all, but the ZZ Top song La Grange?, they ripped the guitar bit at the beginning of their song from Canned Heat....thats right...Listen to the song Woodstock Boogie, the guitar at the front of it, and listen to La Grange and you will agree with me. AND DO NOT SAY Canned Heat ripped it off ZZ Top, because Canned Heat played that guitar rift like 4 years before the song La Grange was produced. |

Ok people...here is what i think....I think you will agree.
The song Woman is the Nigger of the World means that John acknowledges the fact that women have been oppressed for a long time...hundreds of years ago they were only good for bearing children (as people thought.....it was only until about 80 years ago that women could vote.
He is comparing them to niggers* (I am not using this as a racial slur, just taking a piece of the song title to use for comparison), but black people had been oppresseed as slaves up until 1865, and that was about all the potential that was given to them at that time.
So therefore he had compared both of them together in a song because he realized that they both have been oppressed.I am a man that has realized the same thing as John Lennon has, and now just wrote about it. |

And as far as the user Unready is concerned....I am not trying to point out your incompetence, which is apparent....but the hippie generaton was really from about 1965-about 1973 or 1974 this song was written in 1980, so he wrote this a little while after the hippie culture.....But i must say....the late 60's were a time to be alive....great times. |

This song has a direct correlation to the movie-Alice in Wonderland....YES I KNOW THAT IS OBVIOUS!!
I was told that when the movie Alice in Wonderland was being made, the producers/animators were doing drugs...it seems hard to believe that in 1952 people took drugs, but everything is possible.

This is a really good song.....i've only heard it on the Woodstock Soundtrack LP set, but i like the wat it fades in from "Wooden Ships" to "See Me, Feel Me" if you haven't heard it it is a nice deep guitar bit and the lyrics go "We foresake you, gonna rape you, won't forget you.....very nice. |
