i think the subject of the the song is everything that you want to have or reach to and feeling so close but can't fully reach it. for me it's about quantum physics and exploring the secrets of the universe the thungs that we can't fully understand but yet they are all around us and are very accessible but still we can't fully reach them.

it's about a way of life as an "underdog". the man in the song is very lonely, mainly because he doesnt care about people and does what he wants and everyone thinks he won't get far that way and he gets far and keeps living "riding on this train" in the underdog way. |

I think I found a reasonable meaning for the song I think its about elsa that was drug addicted and she had a dog. she died from the addiction and the dog stayed on his own in the world. they tried to give the dog to another friend but it didnt worked out so the dog is now i guess wondering all by himself in the streets of london [maybe somebody found him]. |

I have a bit bizzare meaning for this song I think it's about magician's life "I'm sure I've seen this look before done a thousand times and a million more" a trick that the magician doing over and over again
"how many lies did you tell this time? how many times did you cross the line?" the line of truth he crossed many and many times everything in the magician's life is fake
"is there something real that's behind the mask?
something true we don't know about?
a little faith in amongst the doubt?" ian is asking the magician is there something in your life that isn't fake?
