Scarling – We Are The Music Makers Lyrics | 15 years ago |
"We kiss like painted tigers, But we bleed like no one else." I second ToxicMuffins. I love those two lines but have no idea what they mean. |
Fall Out Boy – Thnks fr th Mmrs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i respect your right to hate FOB. i just wish you'd shut up. i have come to the conclusion that you are a complete loser, 13 Black Roses. i dont particularly care what it says wen you make your account. its still a "fucking waste of time" to constantly put negative comments and nvr actually comment on a song's meaning. GrOoViN2tHeMuSiC is a moron, + her typing is annoying as hell. |
Fall Out Boy – Thnks fr th Mmrs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
13 Black Roses, fuck off right back at ya. "Man, what a fucking waste of time" that's funny. what have you been doing this entire time? i skimmed your comments. you have not commented once about the meaning of a song. only your own opinions. almost all negative. you have to be pretty egotistical to think anyone gives a fuck what bands you hate. [that goes for the rest of you, of course] |
My Chemical Romance – I'm Not Okay (I Promise) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
that was completely pointless. ^^ |
My Chemical Romance – Cemetery Drive Lyrics | 17 years ago |
yes. its obviously peace_love_empathy who has "attention issues" when [EmpireOfDirt] spends his [bountiful] free time seeing how many ppl he can piss off at one time. *sarcasm* |
Fall Out Boy – Thnks fr th Mmrs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
[EmpireOfDirt], at midnight on a wednesday, i suggest either sleeping or getting a life. that also goes for the rest of you who are commenting obssessively on how much FOB suck. guess wat? i dont care. go feed off conflict somewhere else. |
My Chemical Romance – My Way Home Is Through You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
ok... idk if some1 has already said something along these lines, cuz i stopped reading the comments wen ppl started going at each other's throats. jk, i just didnt wanna read it all. but anyway. i think the entire song adressed to the fans and the rest of the world. first and second verses refer to depressed teenagers, and the meds to "fix" them, as others have said. the chorus i have a bit if a strange interpretation of. i think wen they're talking about "home" they're talking about happiness. like, the way to finally reach contentment. they might not know exactly how to get there, but they know that they need to stick with the band, stay true to their fans ["you" refers to the fans], etc. to find fufillment. the "seven different shades" line confused me, but i agree with others who have said that it refers to pills. MCR has a habit of saying pretty weird stuff in the backround of their songs [they say "what did you call me? well, there's no way i'm kissing that guy" in the backround of another song] the third verse i believe refers to fake fans. the fourth is pretty much saying that MCR is not and will never be political. the "come on angel, dont you cry" is refering to fans to, i think. going back to the tennage depression theme in the first two verses. rather vague, but only because most ppl have said what the verses are about. hope that made sense... |
Fall Out Boy – Thnks fr th Mmrs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
o god, i hate monkeys.... the monkeys arent random tho, they represent something and the missing vowels arent random either [its not just laziness] someone just has to tell me wat they mean.... |
Bayside – Landing Feet First Lyrics | 17 years ago |
oh, this song is awesome :) it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy |
Skillet – The Last Night Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I'm listening to this song for the first time. And I'm crying. |
Bayside – Just Enough To Love You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
wow, Atemporal, you're a bitch. just had to say that. pretty easy song to interpret. and it is "whats left OF my self esteem" |
My Chemical Romance – Cemetery Drive Lyrics | 17 years ago |
[yournamehere]: [EmpireOfDirt]: chockie: shut up already... i dont care what you think, nor does anyone else who listens to MCR. i came to the frickin web page to see wat ppl thot the song meant, not to hear your meaningless blabber about posers, emo, and whats actually good music in your eyes. your clogging the lyric page, already. everyone who deliberately posts on a song they hate to put it down obviously feeds off conflict and has nothing better to do. get a life. LEAVE US ALONE! oh, and [EmpieOfDirt], the NyQuil thing was horrid. and it WASN'T FUNNY! as for the meaning, zepfan764 and e1en4 both had good ideas. idk, as much as i love this song, i never saw how it fit into the theme of three cheers [the whole 1,000 evil men deal]. enlightenment would be much appreciated regarding its meaning. |
Fall Out Boy – The Take Over, the Breaks Over Lyrics | 17 years ago |
why do ppl feel such a need to rag on fall out boy? geez, i get that you hate them, but is it really neccessary to tell everyone that likes FOB that you dont? jane007: no offense? WTF? of couse we're gonna take offense... :( |
Bayside – Head on a Plate Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i'm pretty sure it's "i'm really not that conceited, I swear, I'm not" i dont think "conceded" makes much sense in that context could be wrong tho awesome song! |
Bayside – They're NOT Horses, They're Unicorns Lyrics | 17 years ago |
ha, sorry, that was like one big run-on sentence... |
Bayside – They're NOT Horses, They're Unicorns Lyrics | 17 years ago |
ha, i no, i hear that riff in my sleep! its pretty obvious the song's about a relationship. the first verse, is, i think, talking about how she is in a lot of emotional pain and he's keeping her sane, being her novicane. the next line is refering to a past relationship (he uses the pronoun "she") that destroyed him. but the girl that most of the song's about helped him get over that last relationship [i was just a lost soul who needed a home, i was filling a void with you] and helping her with her problems made him feel complete. but she creates her own problems with the bad decisions she makes, so he can't really herlp her, [That one day you'd break and I'd get see, How all the choices you made could drive you insane] and this new relationship eventually was just as bad as the previous one. so, they break up, and he wishes she could see what their relationship did to him, [And I can't can't wait, Til you see see see, What death and disgust have done to me] and he talks about how he's been in relationships like this for years. [I've been that way for years and years, A slave to broken hearts and sex appeal] so, thats my analysis, if it made sense at all... awesome song! |
Paramore – Misery Business Lyrics | 17 years ago |
june twelfth is coming so slooowly! meaning of this song is pretty self-explanatory... |
Bayside – Choice Hops And Bottled Self-Esteem Lyrics | 17 years ago |
the lyrics here are fairly accurate besides a ton of typos, which are slightly annoying. i think the cd cover-ish thing is a bit off... [from wat i can tell from other sites] i think that the song is about falling in love with someone [i never thought it was possible, but i think i fell in love with someone worse than me] who is still troubled by something that happened two years ago, maybe a bad breakup or death [the truth is that your heart collapsed two years ago tonight] and on the anniversary she drinks herself into oblivion trying to make the memory go away [they say scent is the strongest sense...]. he's trying to tell her that alcohol isnt going to solve her problems [the healing power of alcohol...] and that the hard times in her life will eventually teach her valuble lessons, [you should thank your lucky stars for all the times you've been ashamed...] and she should stop trying to wish those times away, no matter how much it hurts. i dont think its simply expressing disgust for ppl who get drunk and make fools of themselves, altho i do agree with the statement that its sickening... love the song! |
Bayside – Masterpiece Lyrics | 17 years ago |
*the song definetly means what every1 else said [i was a bit vague] |
Bayside – Masterpiece Lyrics | 17 years ago |
yes, definetly what every1 else has said. "painting pictures in red and blue" from that line i got that red symbolized blood [blood shot eyes, or maybe just pain in general] and blue symbolized depression [feeling blue:feeling sad] or bruises [like he mentions in the next line]. any1 else get that? |
Bayside – Guardrail Lyrics | 17 years ago |
and that is really creepy.... |
Bayside – Guardrail Lyrics | 17 years ago |
believe13, i luv that part too, its my favorite yeah, i definetly think its a song about a relationship gone bad. it completely destroyed him, and now, after its over, he's singing about how much he hates her now. |
The Weakerthans – Plea from a Cat Named Virtute Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i love this song to bits. meaning is pretty straight-forward. its from a cat's perspective, telling his owner to stop being so depressed and enjoy life for once. invite some friends over, and forget your troubles, etc. etc. |
Fall Out Boy – Thnks fr th Mmrs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
if u insist, i'll go check itunes... its ok, i guess. *shrug* well, at least you're honest. fair enough. |
Fall Out Boy – Thnks fr th Mmrs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
and you hate MCR too. yes, its pretty close to impossible i'll like any band you like. but i do respect your opinion. |
Fall Out Boy – Thnks fr th Mmrs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
barneyboy: wat about monkeys???? [EmpireOfDirt]: well, if you dont like FOB, then the chances of me liking music that you enjoy is pretty slim. so thats unlikely. oh, and you STILL haven't answered my question. |
U2 – Running To Stand Still Lyrics | 17 years ago |
um, i hate to sound kinda stupid and naive, but what is needle chill? i mean, i get the drug reference, i'm just wondering. |
Green Day – Ha Ha You're Dead Lyrics | 17 years ago |
freakyprincess: like other people have said, it hurts like hell. as for idiomatic, i dont really know. but it can be taken as a metaphor, i guess... |
Boys Like Girls – On Top Of The World Lyrics | 17 years ago |
yes, when i first listened to this, i thought that it was about the death of a loved one immediately. i think that it's about losing someone and then just having to believe they're there, pretending to talk to them, be with them. i think the road, [i'm following the road to where you are, streetlights] represents the road of life, the stars are heaven/the afterlife. so he'll eventually die and see his loved one again. really, his mom died of cancer? *tear* |
Fall Out Boy – Thnks fr th Mmrs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
empire of dirt: well, it certainly doesnt sound the same to me. its an opinion, yours to be specific. why post it on a page that u no will mostly be visited by ppl who disagree with you? |
My Chemical Romance – The Ghost of You (Reverse) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
never mind, i highly doubt it was on purpose. i cant hear anything! it sounds amazing though. |
My Chemical Romance – The Ghost of You (Reverse) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
ok, i might have no idea wat i'm talking about, but wouldnt it have to be on purpose for it to make any sense watsoever? and also, i think that the reason some lyrics make no friggin sense is cuz that was accidental. isnt it kinda hard to make a backwards song make sense at all? this is freaking terrifying, btw. |
Fall Out Boy – Thnks fr th Mmrs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
[EmpireOfDirt]: i have questions for ppl like you. first of all, why do you go to bands you hate and post complaints? do u actually think that u are convincing some ppl that fall out boy sucks? do u think anyone could possibly be stupid enuff to think to them selves "hmmm. this band is incredibly popular. but this person hates them. so i'll hate them too!"? why does EVERYONE have to rag on fall out boy? wat makes so many ppl loathe them? i mean, i hate some music too, but it doesnt mean i constantly insult them. and, um, isnt that kind of your opinion? that fall out boy sucks, i mean. its not fact. so why do u act like its undeniable truth? answers would be much appreciated... |
U2 – Zooropa Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i love this song, but it's easily the strangest one i own. yeah, thnx StolenBriefcase, had no idea that was wat it was about! but it makes sense to me now. the beginning is highlighting our empty commercial culture, then the next part is talking about how lost this world makes him feel. the last part is optimistic, i think, talking about how everything will be okay, and saying there still is beauty in the world. UNCERTAINTY CAN BE A GUIDING LIGHT (i love that line so much) |
Green Day – Ha Ha You're Dead Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i think this songs meaning is pretty clear. he hates someone, and she/he/it is gonna die (b/c everyones gonna die someday) and he cant wait. ha ha you're dead the joke is over you were an asshole and now you're gone freaking brilliant |
Fall Out Boy – The Take Over, the Breaks Over Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i'm suprised no one else has commented on this song. it kicks ass, gets stuck in my head so easy. but i really dont have any clue as to wat it means. i agree with ssocoty, but i dont think that explains the entire song "we do it in the dark with smiles on our faces" uh... any theories? |
U2 – Stay (Faraway, So Close!) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i could be ttly wrong, and i've never even heard of any of the movies mentioned, but i'll follow randomcamels' lead and just say what it means to ME. the first verse illustrates how lost this woman is totally lost and messed up, (Dressed up like a car crash/ The wheels are turning but you're upside down) she doesn't know what she really wants anymore. it also says that her boyfriend abuses her, but she stays with him anyway, and makes excuses (it makes her feel alive) for not dumping him. the second verse is telling how she completely ignores the narrator of the song, it's like she can't hear or see him. i'm not quite sure about the next verse, but i think it's talking about how he hopes that if he keeps trying, eventually, the night, representing the bad things in her life, will give her up, and she'll see and pay attention to the narrator. the next verse seems completely irrelevant to me... the fifth verse is again saying how she can't even see him, but if she screamed, as in, if she was ever in trouble, he would come running. the second to last verse is kind of the same as the third verse. the last verse i'm divided about. it is either that the woman is the angel, and her clattering to the ground is her getting seriously hurt, or dying, or that the narrator is the angel (as in her guardian angel) and he has decided that he's never going to be able to help her so he's giving up (and clattering to the ground because he's no longer an angel). this is a really sad song, but i love it. |
U2 – City of Blinding Lights Lyrics | 17 years ago |
o yeah, and my favorite verse is: neon heart dayglo eyes a city lit by fireflies they're advertising in the skies for people like us this song ttly reminds me of "where the streets have no name" especially since they both have really long musical intros w/ no singing |
U2 – City of Blinding Lights Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"they're advertising in the skies, for people like us" i thot "they" refered to the fireflies, since when fireflies blink, they are, in a sense, advertising for other things like themselves. like the lights of a city, beckoning other people to come and join them. sry if someone's already said that. i love this song, one of the songs tied for favorite off of how to dismantle an atomic bomb. |
U2 – A Sort Of Homecoming Lyrics | 17 years ago |
ok, i could be completely wrong about this, but i always thot that this song was about, like, a really big disaster, either a war, or a famine ("as the valley explodes" "the land grows weary of its own") and then the refugees having to leave their home ("And you know it's time to go/ Through the sleet and driving snow/ Across the fields of mourning/ Lights in the distance" "oh come away") and then, their homecoming ("Oh, don't sorrow, no don't weep/ For tonight, at last/ I am coming home/ I am coming home"). but their home really isn't the same anymore, so it's only a "sort of homecoming". also, Unforgettable Fire has one of the coolest album covers EVER. wat is that a picture of???? |
Augustana – Boston Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i dont really see any direct reference to a romantic relationship here, i think it definetly COULD be a bf/gf kind of thing, but it could also be about realy good friends. the girl is really depressed, and thinks no one understands her, and wants to leave california for boston. the line "I think I need a sunrise, I’m tired of the sunset" is probably my favorite. Even tho most people like sunsets, because they're so beautiful, she is tired of conventional beauty, tired of all the glamour of california, and wants to go somewhere where the sun is rising. She wants a new beginning. i LOVE this song. i think almost everyone can relate to it. The girl in the song feels so hopelessly entangled, everyone around her has known her forever, they know all about a past she'd rather forget. She needs a new city, a new place, where she can truly start all over. also, i'm kinda confused, does any1 have any theories as to wat "The essential yet appealed, Carry all your thoughts cross an open field" means???? |
The Killers – This River Is Wild Lyrics | 17 years ago |
yeah, i agree with boobooatomic, why would the man in red, if he was satan, be warning the narrator about hell with the line "it's a long long long way down"???? I think the man in red is god or maybe the narrator's conscience. altho it does sound like a reference to the devil, so i might be wrong. Rachelieesdead, i dunno wat that line in particular means, it's definetly not an american thing. all i got from that verse was that adam is a sinner, and maybe his mom is trying to be a good influence on him, but it isn't working. also, as for the swearing thing in that verse, i think it's kinda neccesary to really get across the point that they're trying to make about adam. the last part about the fair grounds is ttly my favorite!! (: |
The Killers – Uncle Jonny Lyrics | 17 years ago |
um, oops, i did not mean to submit that. ok, i'm gonna continue. i love the guitar in this song. the only other thing is i thot it was "s-s-superman," like he was sttutering or something, not "success the superman," does "success the superman" have some meaning that I'm not catching? |
The Killers – Uncle Jonny Lyrics | 17 years ago |
yeah, meaning in this song is kinda self explanatory When everybody else refrained My Uncle Johnny did cocaine i |
Fall Out Boy – I've Got All This Ringing in My Ears and None on My Fingers Lyrics | 17 years ago |
nhlnyr: yeah, when he starts singing along, i always HAVE to sing w/ him F.o.B.truxoluv: i recognize the guitar from somewhere 2, but i dunno where |
Fall Out Boy – You're Crashing, but You're No Wave Lyrics | 17 years ago |
responding to nhlnyr27 and Deen: i'm guessing here, but DA stands for district attorney, not defense attorney, and district attorneys are the prosecuting attorneys. so, the twelve hearts beat in favor, and the defendant is foud guilty. too much Law and Order on TNT. |
