I dont know if he's the Noah of the video clip... I think he's just like one of the important people necessary for the "new world". Other than that the video clip confuses me aswell. But I still love the clip and the song, even if I dont get it 100% |

I ABSOLUTELY love this song! It's definately one of my favorite A-Ha songs!
I think it's just saying that people get stuck in these comfort zones that they won't get out of because they're scared or what not and basically it doesn't make life any easier, it just stops you from experiencing life as it should be. |

Actually Mephistopheles comes in the form of a black poodle... but your right it is a long story and I think kamelot only loosely based their album on the storyline. Helena in the play was named margaret but her nickname was gretchen.

Im only 17 and I am completely in love with A-Ha's music!! People look at me funny when I tell them that though, or they dont know who they are until I mention take on me! (Even though they have so many better songs than that one!!)
But yeah back to the point. I think this song is about how important the people you love in your life should be to you and how no matter what happens everything is ok. |

I think that this song is very confusing... It's very metaphorical without anyone knowing what the metaphors mean exactly. The lyrics could be about suicide but I tend to doubt it, its not really A-Ha's style... I personally think it is just about escaping a very bad place.
Beautiful song though... very deep and haunting. Another winner for A-Ha. |

I personally think this song is the bands way of expressing how difficult it was for them to leave Norway to try make it in the music industry and how hard it was for them to leave the people they loved behind. It would be a daunting experience to go from Norway to America. |
