Oh No! Oh My! – The Backseat Lyrics

This song feels like it's about 3 different relationships at once. I like listening to it and reflecting on every romantic endeavor I've ever had |

like citybird said it's supposed to be melodramatic and cliche. it's supposed to have the feel of john hughes movie (note the molly ringwald reference) |

MGMT – Kids Lyrics

it could also be about absolutely nothing at all. maybe they just thought the words sounded good when they were sung. more singers write lyrical nonsense than you might realize. I didn't think many did until I started writing songs and working with different singers, but a lot of songs have no meaning or close to no meaning. |

Queens of the Stone Age – I Never Came Lyrics

what i love most about this song is that it exemplifies how long i've been listening to QOSTA, because i first listened to this song i knew it was about sex but pretended it wasn't because i preffered not to think about sex. now i can completely relate to the lyrics |

Bishop Allen – Bellingham Lyrics
|
Having lived in Bellingham my whole life I very much enjoy this song, but it sounds more like it was written about Fairhaven, which is sort of a suburb of Bellingham, but used to be its own seperate town. It's based around the bay, it's where the train station is, and it looks a lot older and pleasant than the central part of Bellingham. Oh and we definitely don't have a majestic dock.
Guess none of that means anything to an outsider, but whatever |

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart – This Love Is Fucking Right! Lyrics
| 15 years ago
|
i think the title is definitely a reference to the Field Mice song, but I think the songs might be about incest
"you're my sister and this love is fucking right"
but i could just be biased 'cause i'm a pixies fan and the "sister" isn't meant to be taken literally |

for my last summer job i was a night janitor and i'd always blast this song in my headphones. if i played my music too quiet i'd imagine hearing things that weren't really there.
this song always reminds me of the first half of that nightwatch movie |

Modest Mouse – Novocain Stain Lyrics
|
"tv stained my memories" is such a brilliant line. it's true though, so much of my memory is wasted on remembering the stupid plot lines of sitcoms and we relate so much of what happens to us to things that we've seen on television
and dragon stfu. i'm sick of all these people on here who have never even been to washington talking about how isaaquah is this tiny white trash trailer town. it's not. it's urban, like half an hour tops from seattle, and full of yuppies just like the rest of western washington.
sources: i've lived in the same house in bellingham (bout an hour north of seattle) my whole life |

Cake – Up So Close Lyrics
|
i think that this song definitely adresses oral sex with lyrics like "way down south" but "down your throat" and "in your mouth" for example i think are about kissing. so it's about how in general when your being intimate with somone you can't really see them cus you're too close.
it's why i can't help but peek somtimes when i kiss. |

Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody Lyrics

really? i always though the meanings was pretty straitght forward: the young narrator shoots and kills another man. confesses to his mother and at first tries to escape but is caught. then comes the scene where he's in court and him and his attorney argue for pity while the prosecution against it. he is then convicted and receives the death penalty.

Bikini Kill – White Boy Lyrics
|
I love bikini kill but it does come across as a little sexist. I've always felt the femninist movements never truly caught on because feminists alienated men. and the lyrics "I'm so sorry if I'm alienating some of you
Your whole fucking culture alienates me"
show that the song isn't adressing just one white dude, but white dudes in general.
Also I'm not really sure if this guy is talking about rape or girls getting checked out n leered at. If he's talking about the latter, he's ignorant and a sexist dick but he sorta has a point. I mean if a woman I find attractive is wearing some super revealing shirt they are sort of asking to checked out ('least in the bitter cold place I live in). If he's talking about the first he's simply a fucker who deserves to have his own dick forced up his ass.
and to tickingtime's "go read a book" all i have to say is don't be such an elitist snob. I'm not saying that because reading books are for elitist snobs, I read all the time, but, because saying "go read a book" is the kind of thing that somone who only reads books for the sake of being better than everyone else would say. |

Ramones – Howling at the Moon (Sha-La-La) Lyrics

Too bad they stole the "sha-la-la" part from some 50's pop band. I used to love this song but then one day I was sitting in an IHOP and they always play old 50s pop songs and one of the songs had the exact tune of this song. I really can't provide any evidence of this other than my word though. |
