Bon Iver – The Wolves (Act I and II) Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I don't know if that link has been posted yet, but this is probably the best live performance of all time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jxP7dQYBb8 |
Dredg – Where I'll End Up Lyrics | 12 years ago |
"Where I'll End Up" is the worst thing ever made by a human. Except for the bagpipes. |
A Silver Mt. Zion – 'Piphany Rambler Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Maybe my favourite ASMZ song. |
Bedroom Eyes – Motorcycle Daydream Lyrics | 13 years ago |
There are NEVER enough "I Love You"s. |
Elbow – Great Expectations Lyrics | 14 years ago |
No, it's definitely "vow" (look at the booklet) and this supports acoustikid's theory (which was mine too) that he imagined the marriage and probably the whole relationship. They never married, never exchanged vows, she just smiled at him and he took this smile as a vow for this (imagined) marriage. Look at the first verse "wrap you in the stories, tailored entirely for you". He just made this up. Or at least that's what I think ;-) . |
The Miserable Rich – Boat Song Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I think it's about being a father. |
Porcupine Tree – Sever Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Great song and i love that "The only way to survive is on your knees, muahahahah...". But there is a voice after that, does anyone know what it says? |
Now It's Overhead – A Little Consolation Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Thanks, toadtws, I never thought about that, but it makes sense. What an amazing song! |
Neil Halstead – Dreamed I Saw Soldiers Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Amazing song, thank you so much for posting these lyrics. "...but the moment I wanted had already passed..." |
A Whisper in the Noise – Anymore Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Yeah, great song, I love the last line "Crashing into the ground feels better than to drown..." (And I'm born in '84 and German ;-) ...) |
Nick Drake – Milk and Honey Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree, very beautiful song, though the quality of the Tanworth-Recordings is very bad, but this one is one of my favourites, along with "Winter Is Done" and the Dylan-Cover... |
The Notwist – Consequence Lyrics | 18 years ago |
When I listened to this song for the first time, I was complety... I don't know, I just couldn't get enough of it, so I had to listened to it over and over again. And then, suddenly, this feeling was gone and for one moment, I was disappointed, because I thought, that I couldn't enjoy this song anymore the way I did before. But I was wrong, now it's not driving me mad anymore, it's better, it just feels great to hear it. The first lines are probably the most beautiful lines ever written: "You're the colour, you're the movement and the spin..." So beautiful, maybe the best way do describe someone you love. Imagine a world without colour, movement or spin. That's everything he sees when she's gone, he just feels paralysed. He needs her to feel great, so he doesn't want her to leave, but he knows, that he doesn't have a chance ("fail with consequence, lose with eloquence"), because this is real life and not a stupid hollywood film with a happy end ("I'm not in this movie, I'm not in this song"), so I think, he's thankful for the moments he can share with her ("and smile"), maybe when he meets her at work, school or whatever. For me, this song is not only about love, it IS love... (but I could use some colour again...) |
Now It's Overhead – A Little Consolation Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Is everyone sure about the last line? Because in my booklet it says "a little consolation ascend in the night away"? It sounds pretty similar. I like both. And I love this song and the lyrics although I don't really understand what they are about, but that doesn't matter... Especially these lines: "Hello, she will be here not too many more days, Speak up in a hurry, so there won't be pain" (And, of course, I didn't say anything :-( ...) But the ending is so great, it's just so much ... consolation... |
