I think it means that there's is so much strain in realtionships and so many disagreements that he's trying see it from a different perspective. He's trying to convince her that it's love and not lust. Maybe it started out as lust because of the words, " please understand me that now where your standing is closer than I'd hoped." now it's turned into love. Or maybe he's trying to leave her and see how his life would be without her......man I don't know, that's all I got......It's a great song though |

I love this song. It sounds like he's saying his mom had more faith in her little finger than anyone he's ever known and she deserves to be in Heaven upon her faith alone, that no one else he knew doesn't compare to her and how much love and conviciton she had for God. "Set as I am in my ways and my arrogance. Burden of proof tossed upon non-believers. You were my witness. My eyes, my evidence. Judith Marie, unconditional one." seems to me that no matter how much he hates the 'middle men' of religion he sees something there because he saw it in his mom. That maybe she spoke of her faith with such conviciton he knew that she believed it to her core and he couldn't argue with that. Anyhow, that's what the song means to me, Either way, it's a beautiful song from a genius. |

So, it's no secret that P.O.D. means Payable on Death, which in the Christian faith means, Jesus died on the cross for our sins, We repay our debt to God by our death. That being said, to me, this song holds a lot of meanings. It reminds me of when I was first saved. "the hardest part of holding on is letting it go", this means to me that it's hard to get rid of the sins in our life because we're so used to being in control of everything. Sometimes we don't want to give all control to someone else and it's scary. This song sounds like it's being sung for new christians who aren't really sure of anything anymore. "when will we sing a new song?" seems as if he's talking about Jesus' second comming and claiming all of his children. The part "For every other word left unsaid,
you should've took the time to read the signs
and see what it meant (what it meant)" means to me about him warning people of the second coming of God and the end of the world as we know it. He seems to be talking about the importance of being saved and going to Heaven. "In some ways everybody feels alone," refers to feeling alone in faith because we are still human, and it can be lonley. Changing your life for Christ isn't easy because people look at you like your crazy and your no longer "fun" because you've erased alcohol and drugs or sex from your life.
