The Alan Parsons Project – Eye In The Sky Lyrics 13 years ago
This song is obviously about Sauron watching the one carrying the One Ring.

Rammstein – Links 2 3 4 Lyrics 16 years ago
Last week I had to find a song about non-conformity for English class, and was looking through all of my Rammstein music since I know that nobody else in my school is a big fan of them. I decided that "Spring!" was the best song to use, but this one also crossed my mind.

"They want my heart beating in the right place but I look below and it beats left from there"
I believe that with this line it's possible to say that the song may also be dealing with conformity. "Spring" was saying that doing what the crowd tells you can get you killed. For the project I interpreted this one as a song about the crowd wanting you to do something that simply isn't possible.
I also used "Amerika" as an example in the conformity project; rather than seeing through they eyes of somebody being forced to do what everybody else want, "Amerika" is told from the eyes of the one setting the trends and forcing others to conform. As "Amerika" IS about America forcing its culture and ways on the rest of the world, I don't think that interpretation is far off.

I interpret this song as anti-conformity, using the classic "If everybody told you to jump off a bridge, would you?" line to the most literal extent possible.

Megaherz – I.M Rumpelstilzchen Lyrics 16 years ago
If I had to take a guess, I'd have to say that this song is about how great it is to be able to do whatever you want when nobody knows who you are. If you're just an average Joe and nobody knows your name then you can just blend in with the crowd and nobody will think anything of it; you're practically invisible. If you're famous people are going to recognize you right away and swarm you, and anything you do is going to end up on the news.
Just a bit of shallow thinking, since I haven't listened to much new music lately and I haven't been trying to find any new meaning in old songs I'm quite rusty at interpretation.

Rammstein – Du Riechst So Gut Lyrics 17 years ago
Any true fan of any band would take their word for it when they say something. Thus, if you can't take their word for it and believe them when they say it's about vampires rather than sex you aren't really that devoted to them, are you?

@Juggalos2d:
Guessing werewolves based on the videos was a nice guess. However, vampires also have the ability to transform into wolves as well as bats, though they're mostly associated with bats in cartoons and movies, probably to minimize confusion with werewolves. When it comes to changing into their animal forms the main difference between a vampire and a lycanthrope is that a vampire can change at will. A lycanthrope can become able to change at will or resist changing in the light of the full moon, but it requires incredible effort and a strong will to do so.

The song was written as the theme song for a boxer. The reason that they're counting to ten is because if you're on the ground for ten seconds you're out; rather than actually saying ten they just skip to "out."
One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. Out.
A lot of their songs have deep meaning, but as this was originally written for a boxer it's obviously about a boxer. I wouldn't advise trying to over-analyze this one.

Rammstein – Pet Sematary (Ramones cover) Lyrics 17 years ago
Personally, I like the original by the Ramones better. It's a cool song, but it probably would've been better with Till singing. I can notice Flake's accent a lot more than when Till sings.

Speaking of which, if Flake was singing then where was Till during this performance? Taking over Flake's spot at the keyboard? lol

Rammstein – Stirb Nicht Vor Mir Lyrics 17 years ago
I much like the whole vampire idea... the only reasons I would have to disagree are that they never really make a referrence to any common vampiric stereotypes, they never mention how much time passes, and that they already have a vampire-based song =)
Obviously it's a love song. They dream about each other every night, but they don't know who the other one is.
Having one person singing in German and one person singing in English somewhat supports my theory for that the message is that there's someone for everyone, even if you have to go to another country to find them.

Rammstein – Adios Lyrics 18 years ago
I like Rebekka's theory, I never really listened to any music at all but since about 3 months ago I'm listening to Rammstein nonstop... some music is soooooo addictive XD

It could also be about someone getting lethal injection... It says "He lays the needle into 'the' vein," it doesn't say the person put the needle into his own vein.

1) Rammstein aren't Nazis, their manager stops their concerts if people start doing the Nazi salute until they're thrown out of the concert.

2) Don't stereotype Germans as being Nazis, there are probably more Nazis in America than in Germany.

I'll go with the apocolypse theory ^_^

This is what I think it's saying:
She doesn't look good when you look with your eyes, but she's beautiful when you start to see through your heart instead.

Rammstein – Schwarzes Glas Lyrics 18 years ago
Translation from herzeleid.com:

A small wish, oh if you were blind
we are victims of a bad trick
black glass is everywhere
we are guilty because we are ugly

Black glass, the light blinds me
a small wish, oh if you were blind
black glass, and I see my face again
what can I do since we are ugly?

In front of the middle of a deep fall
and under masks, it becomes hard
black glass is everywhere
how beautiful you were is forgotten

Black glass, the light blinds me
a small wish, oh if you were blind
black glass, and I see my face again
what can I do since we are ugly?

I think that saying that we are ugly means that we are all bad people bsically destroying the world, and the black glass and blindness could be lies that we tell ourselves and others to try convincing ourselves that we're doing the right thing, even if we're not.

Rammstein – Los Lyrics 18 years ago
I think it's about the band. The first part says:

We were nameless
and without songs
We were never again
really wordless
Still we are
a little songless [2]
Yet we're not toneless
You can hear us
After a gust of wind
began a storm
Simply matchless
It was time
-less [3]

The beginning could be referring to the band before they actually became a band, nameless meaning nobody had heard of them, and without songs (well, they weren't a band yet).
Then they say that they weren't toneless and that we can hear them, meaning that they began singing and people could hear them a bit, perhaps referring to when they were in seperate bands and began to become famous.
The gust of wind could be their joining into the band Rammstein, and the matchless, timeless storm could be talking about all of the attention they began to get.

"They were speechless
So totally shocked
And totally powerless
What happened
Somewhat composureless [4]
and surely
understandingless [4]
That will be censored
They said groundless
Too bad about the music
So shameless
That should be forbidden
It's witless
what they're trying there
So tasteless
how they're making music
Is it hopeless
Senseless
Helpless
They are godless [5]"

People were shocked at how big they became. The part about being without understanding could be talking about people not understanding their music. The rest could be talking about criticism they got; shameless, tasteless, hopeless, senseless, and helpless would be referring to their music, and then "They are godless" referring to the band.
I think that would be an good analysis of this part. People tell me that they sound satanic all the time just because they sing in low voices and in a language they don't understand, although we all know that those petty assumptions aren't true.

"We were nameless
We have a name
We were wordless
The words came
Still we are
a little songless
Yet we're not toneless
You do hear it
We aren't flawless
Just a bit anchorless
You will become soundless
You'll never get rid of us"

This is saying that they got names, meaning that they had become famous, they weren't able to say anythin before but now they could, the parts about being a little songless, not flawless, and a bit anchorless meaning that they aren't the best. I think that "You will become soundless, you'll never get rid of us" could mean that they're going to keep becoming more famous until they're the best.
I think the final line should be translated as "We were off," possibly meaning that they're going to get to work with their music and not waste any more time than they have to.

'She swims past and doesn't notice me
I am her shadow, she stands in the light'
Sounds kind of like a stalker to me, but I agree with Frau that Rammstein's songs are deeper than they seem.
I think that the man in the song has fallen in love with the woman but has convinced himself that he isn't good enough for her, leaving himself to watch her, dreaming and wishing that he could be with her.

I think that, from the part saying 'they want my heart beating in the right place but I look below and it beats left from there,' that the song is about people wanting you to be something you aren't or expecting you to do something that can't really be done.
