I agree completely, oddone! Love how the cheery hook sort of "overpowers" the sadder verses. Wonder why they ended the whole song with the last two lines of the verses though... |

my interpretation is it's picking on this digital age. nowadays, aside from music and other promotional efforts, Myspace has become the means to people looking for random sex. "xoxo" means love, in a way, but "xxxo" kind of twists it around, kind of how people on myspace looking to hook up don't really SAY they wanna hook up with other users, but they certainly show it and imply it based on their pages.
...or something like that. idk, MIA is crazy and this song is dope so yea |

This song is about Bankhead Courts, located in Atlanta, GA. Bankhead is government community housing. I went there to play with the kids who live there, and they really do have it hard. They barely have anything, even their parents aren't really a part of their lives. It is very sad, but there is always hope for these amazing kids.
Also, I heard that by the end of June 2009, all of these houses will be torn down to make room for million-dollar condominiums. It pisses me off that many of Bankhead's residents will now become homeless. What a world we live in. |

Pretty sure bugoff is kidding. This song is definitely about... well, what everyone else said--a girl jumping and killing herself. Brilliant song, everything from the awesome guitar licks to the awesome Corin/Carrie harmonizing, to the best drummer ever, to the insane lyrics. I only wish I didn't get into them so late... I hope they get back together. One of my favorite bands. |

Agreed. Definitely the worst first two lines in any Guster song ever. But the meaning that's proposed here seems pretty legit, and I think it's a pretty intelligently written song in the end. |
