Blue Öyster Cult – Don't Fear The Reaper Lyrics 16 years ago
I went to a blue oyster cult concert when I was seven but I really didn't know them until recently. Its pretty cool that my mom took me to the concert because I grew to love them.

Taking Back Sunday – Liar (It Takes One to Know One) Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm all for the lotf interpretation. I think its just too coincidental that they mention islands and choir boys in the same song, and the lotf interpretation imho goes well with the rest of the lyrics. So yeah.

Gatsbys American Dream – Fable Lyrics 17 years ago
Yes, it is a wonderful book. Currently I am quite obsessed. I love the song also. I did a fifteen minute long oral report on lord of the flies. It was only supposed to be 5 minutes but I really got into it. I got an a- because I'm a bad public speaker, but she said that, for reading it on my own, I really really understood the book. I was crying hysterically at the end in relief and sadness(sorta like ralph hehe)...

Anyways just felt like sharing.

Nine Inch Nails – Piggy Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm definitely all for the Lord of the Flies interpretation. And no I don't think it is far-fetched to assume that. I mainly think that it is referring to the scene where Simon is talking to the pig's head aka Lord of the Flies...

"Nothing is turning out the way I planned"- Could be a reference to the fact that at the beginning of the book they think the island will be fun, and Ralph, Piggy, and Simon wanted order...well that's not what happened

"Nothing can stop me now cause I don't care anymore"

I interpret this as the breaking down of civilization in Lord of the Flies, and since there is no society holding them back they just don't give a damn and they end up killing each other..

Anyways, it could mean so many other things but I'm stuck on the Lord of the Flies interpretation because I just finished the book yesterday, and I've been thinking about it a lot.

I also see the God analogy in this song also btw...

Anyways that's my two cents.

Evanescence – Lithium Lyrics 17 years ago
Lithim=a prison. I stopped taking it for that reason(without permission), and to tell you the truth it didn't make me happy in the least. It just made me like a zombie, now I'm more creative and happier.

The Fray – How To Save A Life Lyrics 17 years ago
Great song.

This screams suicide to me maybe because of personal experiences. I was on drugs and suicidal and a friend really helped me through everything. I want to cry every time I hear this song.

I completely relate to the one-sided love thing right now so I'm going to interpret it as such.

Marilyn Manson – Coma Black Lyrics 18 years ago
Okay I'm not really mad at the anti-Christ thing I choose to ignore people like that. What kinda bugs me is that you point out that Manson is goth, when in fact he is not. I have nothing against Manson, but if you want real goth music try out Joy Division, Bauhuas, Siouxsie and the Banshees stuff like that. Obviously that Christian dude also has a really shit poor idea of what goth really is.

Thanks for reading this if you did.

Pearl Jam – Why Go Lyrics 18 years ago
I've been institutionalized about 8 times. It is really stupid. It helped me with my problems and such but they also tried to tell me who I am, when they wouldn't know. Like if I were to cry they would say I couldn't, or if I was talking too much they said I couldn't do that. Every action was controlled. I hated it. And the funny thing is I spent six months in one place and they gave me the wrong diagnosis. People think I'm crazy and used to make fun of me because I am bipolar and I have been to the "crazy" house.

So in short terms I can most definitely relate to this song.

Limp Bizkit – Hot Dog Lyrics 18 years ago
Fred Durst makes a really shitty attempt at Trent Reznor. I agree with the first poster Trent is WAY more talented. He just sounds like white boy trash and admit his music is total bullshit. It just plain sucks. The only people I imagine listing to Limp Bizkit are people either with really bad musical taste or they are trashy. He is whiny. I remember when he had that wonderful attempt to be Kurt Cobain getting his face tatood on him. He just plain sucks. And he can't even compare himself to Trent or Kurt. Sorry.

It doesn't matter if they put words together. Maybe some people like to make the song pertain to experiences they've had.

Godsmack – Voodoo Lyrics 18 years ago
There name has nothing to do with drugs. In an interview Sully said a godsmack was like if you make fun of retarded kids or fat people or something, then you will have a kid that is retarded or fat or whatever, and that's a godsmack. Like god punished you.

He may have said that, but he may also be lying. I love Godsmack I really do, but I believe they were heavily inspired by Alice in Chains and that their name DID come from that song. He may intrepret the song name in different ways, but he did know about the song before hand, and Alice in Chains used the phrase first, so therefore it technically came from the name.

As for the song. I don't give a fuck what its about and why everyone's fighting. I think a song should be written for free interpretation. If you think that drug addiction is how it sounds to you then oh well that's how you take it even though I personally believe it is NOT about drugs. I really don't know what its about. I don't care I like the musical element to the song.

Tori Amos – Crucify Lyrics 18 years ago
When I was thirteen I was put into a mental hospital. I was given this song by a member of the staff there because I said I really like Tori Amos(but I had never heard of this song). When I played it I started crying almost hysterically because I could relate to it in every way, and I was really happy that the staff member had been so considerate to give me the cd. This song gets me through hard times.

Sorry for the personal story, I felt like I had to share it.

The Goo Goo Dolls – Iris Lyrics 18 years ago
This song reminds me of this boy who I love. I've had a hard life and a lot has gone on and he always keeps me going. He doesn't seem to love me back because he has a girlfriend and I listen to this song so I don't bottle it up. I've loved him for a long long time, but never get up the courage.

Nine Inch Nails – Down in It Lyrics 18 years ago
It means a lot to me. I always thought this song was about bipolar disorder, but maybe its because I suffer from it. I don't know. It just reminds me a lot of my struggles with manic depression.

Coldplay – Yellow Lyrics 18 years ago
Anyways, I always thought this song to be about love to an obsession to even madness, and when he says for you I bleed myself dry I'm thinking about self-injury.

Well I can see where fallingxfast is coming from. I saw that when I first listened to it also. But I agree that they probably intended it for the war currently.
