To me, the song is about loss and grieving, over something that can no longer, no matter what you do, be the same again. Be it a death or the end of a realtionship. She's talking about the feeling of loosing something that can't be replaced. i like bemenow's interpretation of it - when you realize that something is over and you end up having to let go of it, even if you don't want to and not prepared to do so either. Another amazing song My belief on it, not knowing if this is right or not, but this is based on one of the other characters of the album. How he is (possibly) sent off to war. He's saying that they are all going to go to hell for all the death they had done and for all of the death they had witnessed. Maybe the line 'Well mother what the war did to my legs and to my tongue. You shoulda raised a baby girl. I shoulda been a better son' means that the mother should have given birth to a baby girl because women never went to war - or well, they did as nurses an such, but they never went off to fight. Maybe he's saying to his mother that she should have had a girl because all this war, all this fighting is tearing this 'mother war' apart. Imagine if your son had to amputate his legs, of cause it would break anyones heart. This would explain the crying at the end. Again, i'm not sure, this is just my two cents. |

Agreed totally with bullets on this one FackingHell: 'This song is about how Gerard hates black people, and sings of how Hitler could have brought clensing to america.' Woah, hold back there I think your on the wrong page here. Well, my two cents is, i can't see any racism in the song. No bias oppinions or prejudice issues, and as far as i know, this song isn't about Hitler and the aryan race, etc. It is a song about loosing someone you love, and learning to cope/deal/survive without them. (most likely relating back to Gerard and his Grandmother) Yes, it may become a very mainstream song, but i think its still really good: one of the reasons being that almost everyone can relate to it because, everyone, at one stage in their lives, has to learn how to deal with a loss. Second being it is (in my opinnion) a fantastic song |

Well in my opinnion, there is only two words to describe this song and those words are 'fucking amazing' it left me speechless The guitar solos do have a bohemian rhapsody edge to them, i think thats what completes the song. It gives a great sense of a rock balad into the song. Pop-punk, hardcore punk, who cares? This band cannot be so easily categorized into one genre. It was easy in the past to label bands like sex pistols, the misfits, iron maiden and the ramones into genres because the genres were just beginning back then. Nowdays, we have all different kinds of music, alternative, rock, metal, black metal, punk, punk alternative, pop, poprock, you name it. I don't know what genre to classify mcr, but whatever it is, they better keep at it because it is freaking awesome. As for the meaning of the song, i think it is introducing the album, the storyline and its characters, the prime one being, 'the patient' in which is suposedly diagnosed with cancer. I think the black parade is a play of words that is a metaphore for death, but again, this is just my opinnion |

I agree with logica_absurda :) I think this song is about an abuse boyfriend/husband/lover etc but it tells us the story in the girls point of view. He beats her, takes advantage of her, but despite of his actions, she continues to 'love' him. She crawls back to him, she thinks that she's in love with him so she keeps going back to him. There are delilahs in the world still. Amanda keeps saying 'i've never met a more impossible girl' because the girl in the story IS impossible. No matter what this guy does to her, she always comes crawling back to him, still claiming her love for him. She's impossible, stubborn even. Thats what i think it's about anyway :D |

I agree with you Lizzie. It may not necessarily be a high school reunion thing, but i think the song has a 'look at me now' scenario to it. She could be talking about what her classmates or peers saw her as. Misconceptions. Like 'She's the kind of girl who looks for love in all the lonely places, the kind who comes to poker pockets stuffed with kings and aces' maybe this is what she thought people 'back then' percieved her as. AHH! Brilliant song. It just introduces Decemberunderground so well. Prelude means a short piece of music which usually introduces or opens something, but i don't understand the refference to 12/21. Maybe it's a date? I don't know. I'm not entirely sure of the meaning but my two cents is that its predicting a death of something or someone. Great song. Love the beat. |

Good song. Amy sings it pretty well for a cover, but i reckon a few more instruments could have been added to Amy's version just to complete the song off more. To asdfg and B12 if you're reading this: Urghh... Fine... whatever... i admit, i might have a short temper.... okay, so i stress the word 'might' a bit. This song really means two things for me, desperation and loneliness. Well, you can tell he's desperate to find someone to love him. He's also desperate for drugs/sex. The loneliness is linked onto the 'desperation' thing because he's so lonely, that practically, he's falling apart. He becomes addicted to drugs and sex especially because he is so engulfed by loneliness. He just wants someone to love, but he also knows that he'll never be commited to a propper relationship. Man, this is one of my favourite The Used songs. Who CAN'T like those trumpets! hee hee! I haven't really heard anyone grasp the meaning of the song though. I'm not too sure in what it is about myself actually, considering everyone has different views of what the lyrics could/could not be. It can be percieved in that its about a guy who just uses this girl for sex really. Considering the lyrics 'just passing through, not stopping by, not saying hi" it's like saying it's all lust, there's not really any relationship between the two. I'm a bit confused about the 'Girl you can't kill a liar' part though... This is just my opinion, if anyone has any other ideas, please tell me! |
