Funeral for a Friend – Walk Away Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is actually well written. The music is good too. The song reminds me of a tough break up.

If you have to let it go - Meaning that if it's too hard to hold on "And these dreams keep you awake" - You can't keep your normal life, "walk away". Move on.

It's a quite simple idea, but it's very well written.

Evans Blue – Dark that Follows Lyrics 17 years ago
MattSmitty - right on. I'm thinking the same thing.

Dantoine - same position... how's that going btw? The girl I'm going for is head over heels for this guy who is using her, and has told her. He's totally into drugs and she's starting to venture down that bath full of questions, "What are drugs like?" "Maybe I'll try them..." and the first line of this song "There's just so many things you never needed to say..." just caught my mind and made me come here and read the lyrics. And I am glad I found MattSmitty's meaning... it seemed to match word for word which sent chills down my spine.

Great song, even better lyrics!

The Fray – Vienna Lyrics 18 years ago
Has anyone ever related this to WW2 and/or the Holocaust?

"Vienna, Austria" is an area where a portion of the Holocaust happened.

"The day's last one-way ticket train pulls in..."
When the prisoners were being brought to camps, it was for many, a one-way ticket train.

"There goes the downpour... There goes my fare thee well"
Men from women, familys from familys, people from themselves. It's goodbye, and knowingly, for good.

"There's really no way to reach me"
There was absolutely no way to contact anyone inside the camps, and no contact going out either.

"'Cause I'm already gone"
By the time the liberators got there, a lot of people had already died.

The entire second verse makes me think of the prisoner's screaming from help from foreign countries to come in and save them from the situation.

The bridge "Maybe in five or ten..." seems like a plee to end the war. Maybe in five or ten years this will be straightened out and honesty need not be feared as a friend or an enemy -- truth hurts, but it builds strong lasting solid relationships.

And lastly, "so this is your maverick. this is vienna".

Maverick means indepence, doing what you will when you will.

Saying, the rest of the world may have it's fancies and riches and freedoms, but this is just Vienna. The hell they live is not a maverick, it's simply, Vienna.

If you read this meaning and then look up "Vienna" you wont find much of a definition more than that of it being a City in Austria. I think this song creates one.

What do you think...?

mewithoutYou – Gentlemen Lyrics 18 years ago
"But what good is one glove without the other". I wonder if this ties in with the band name one glove being "Me", the other "You". In other words, what good is me, without you? "You" perhaps being his other half.

Lifehouse – God's Lemonade Lyrics 18 years ago
Another song that didn't make a CD and probably wont, just for the simple fact that they are keeping their Christian music aside (FKA worship songs and the like to the Mr. Tumnus project). I think this one's about finding God and to him, God is a sweet man who has helped Jason through troubles in his life. Pretty much saying "do whatever you want to me, show me what I need to be shown". Great unreleased song here!

Lifehouse – Joshua Lyrics 18 years ago
This one here seems to me as a spirtual song, one that didn't make it onto their demo or first CD but hopefully we'll see it in future releases.

It reminds me of an experience with God that he's had. Sounds like it may have been written during a tough point in his life, maybe the divorce of his parents or a death in the family, something largely important to him, and he knows God is with him saying "Don't be afraid, be strong... I'm with you."

Lifehouse – Crown Of Scars Lyrics 18 years ago
This song seems to be about passing on, into another life.

Or maybe it's about struggles and dealing with them, and you finally figured things out and going on to another step in life.

Very creative song off of "Diff's Lucky Day". One of my favorites from their demo CD.

Lifehouse – Along the Way Lyrics 18 years ago
This song, to me, is about memories and childhood and life, along the way. It's about growing up and his life. By growing up he's had to say goodbye to ways of life and people in it, just like each and everyone of us will be doing someday.

"All my life beings today; after all, I've walked, I've crawled, I've loved along the way".

Is about the stages of growing up, he feels like it's time to face life, as he's learned it to his best. Probably something he wrote around Graduation time, meaning he's on his own and he'll have to take that knowledge and use it to make something of himself.

Lifehouse – Eighties Lyrics 18 years ago
Jason once said this song was just a joke about how people would say things with the eighties or what not. I think it turned out to be a great song and it reminds me of portraying life as a fairytale. That things happen, and we wish we could change them, but it's real.

Lifehouse – We'll Never Know Lyrics 18 years ago
I remember an interview with Jason that someone said where he said the song was written around the time their record label (Dreamworks) was falling through and they didn't know what was gonna happen to Lifehouse. Eventually, Serge left and Rick and Jason went their ways, ending Lifehouse. But then Jason decided to show Rick some demo's and they gotta deal with Geffen. So I guess everything worked out for them, seeing as their new CD is out.
