Mother Mother – Sleep Awake Lyrics 14 years ago
Wow, I'm very surprised no one has commented on this song yet. This is a very dark and beautiful song, that is especially interesting to listen to when high. It also pairs very well with "Miles," which is also on the album.

I'd like to get some interpretations of the song!

Nickelback – Rockstar Lyrics 17 years ago
I love the sarcasm and satire used in the song:

"I’m gonna trade this life for fortune and fame
I’d even cut my hair and change my name."

Implying that people who want the limelight are willing to completely
change everything about themselves as long as it gets them there.

Like some have said, these lyrics aren't entirely correct in some select verses. Oh, and I wish the background voice was included here as well, such as:

(Tell me watcha want.)
(Ah, so watcha need?)
(Been there, done that.)
(So how you gonna do it?)
(I'll have a quesadilla. Ha ha.)

It's almost as if it's supposed to be the devil, telling him how to sell his soul for stardom. Great song, and I don't even like Nickelback that much.

Jim Carroll Band – People Who Died Lyrics 17 years ago
I love this song, glad that it made it to the Dawn of the Dead soundtrack.

But, what's the deal with Jim Carrol using the name "Bobby" so many times?

"Bobby hung himself from a cell in the tombs."

"Bobby got leukemia, 14 years old."

"Bobby OD'd on Drano on the night that he was wed."

Did he know a lot of people named Bobby, or what?

Beastie Boys – No Sleep 'til Brooklyn Lyrics 17 years ago
It kind of gets to me that there are hardly very many comments on this song, seeing as it's such an awesome tune, with some NICE guitar riffs...

I used to think it was "No sleep TO Brooklyn." Which I thought worked really well, meaning that the whole city was alive and awake while the Beastie Boys were "kickin" it.

I first heard this song in the YouTube video "Free hugs."
And it fits the video.

Taking Back Sunday – MakeDamnSure Lyrics 18 years ago
I hadn't ever listened to TBS before this, but right now the radio is playing this song, and "Crazy" just about every other track. By itself, I think it's a pretty solid song and I haven't heard older stuff from TBS so I have nothing to compare it to.

Daft Punk – Technologic Lyrics 18 years ago
Ugh, all you people who try to relate this song to life are digging too deep. It's just a tune with a bunch of computer terminology.

Modest Mouse – The World at Large Lyrics 18 years ago
"My thoughts were so loud..."

The song presents it self so slow and so low-tone, your forced to render it as a "sad" song. I think the echo and tune just sound so depressing. Great song.

Junior Senior – Move Your Feet Lyrics 18 years ago
Awesome song, killer video. I think it's the perfect party song, and just sounds great really loud. Anytime I hear it, I just feel like danceing. It's that powerful.

Ugly Casanova – Barnacles Lyrics 18 years ago
I think the lyric is: "Buried like boys in a boy's first book of the stars."

And I think this is such an impacting lyric, the best one to be found in this song.

Modest Mouse – Float On Lyrics 18 years ago
Float On was the first Modest Mouse song that I heard. After listening to it, it made me want to go out and purchase the "Good News for People Who Love Bad News" CD. The album was rich with lyrics and questions, that made me want to check out their older albums. I picked up "The Moon and Antarctica." I fell even deeper into the sadness and questions the tracks weaved, and wondered why Modest Mouse were never majorly recognised before. Float On in a change in the way they normally do things, which is this depressing, but loveable sadness. I think Modest Mouse is an amazing band, which I hope will release another album.

The Fray – Over My Head (Cable Car) Lyrics 18 years ago
I've heard this song a few times on the radio, then I decided to check them out on PureVolume. The flow of this song is great, and I love the chorus. I really hope to see more from this band.

Weezer – Perfect Situation Lyrics 18 years ago
There's the pitch
Slow and straight
All i have to do is swing
And i'm a hero

This is my favorite line within the song.

Panic! at the Disco – I Write Sins Not Tragedies Lyrics 18 years ago
I checked the PANIC! Website, and if you go to "CD Player" and then click the book on the right, it opens a lyric directory. For this song, it says:

"Yes, but what a shame, the poor groom's bride is a whore."

Oh dear, her infidelity just spilled all over the floor. Can somebody help her?

The second line was added in, I suppose for clarification.
It also has:

and I'd chime in with a "Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?!"

Notice it says "I'd." I'd is a contraction of 'I would" or "I had.
What I think this is conveying, is that he would have said something, but then:

No ,it's much better to face these kind of things with a sense of poise and rationality.

So instead of shouting out at them, he figured it was best to keep calm about it. I think he was upset about hearing them talk about his soon-to-be wife in a negitive way, it was something he didn't want to hear. So, he played it off, and:

In fact I'll look at it this way, I mean technically our marriage is saved! This calls for a toast, pour the champagne!

He was saved from marrying a distrustful person.
Whenever I posted:

Oh dear, her infidelity just spilled all over the floor. Can somebody help her?

Infidelity is an act of sexual unfaithfulness. So whenever the bride was called a whore, which is a person considered sexually promiscuous, which means they have casual sexual relations frequently with different partners or they are indiscriminate in the choice of sexual partners.

So to sum it up:
1.) He overhears two people talking
2.) He found out that his bride was an unloyal lover
3.) He decides to make the best of the news
4.) He cancels the wedding
5.) He is happy he did and celebrated

Coheed and Cambria – The Suffering Lyrics 18 years ago
Listen through 2:53-3:00 of the song, it's obvious that he says "year". Which makes more since than "gear". I think it is "Way before the year clocked put." Meaning to say, way before the year ended. Clocked out is a term used when you/something stop(s) working.
