Tupac Shakur – Hit 'Em Up Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree with player 1916, all biggie does is talk shit, and people say he's the greatest lol.I also agree with bLiTz_2k5 in that you can't be a legend if you realise one national album while your alive! Anyway, I love this song, one of my favourite's by Tupac. |
Bruce Springsteen – Glory Days Lyrics | 17 years ago |
^^ lol I don't think they are alchoholics, I just think its a natural thing to do-reminice over a few beers |
Akon – Smack That (feat. Eminem) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Dissposition, I have not heard ead prez, but i do know immortal technique, and I think he is shit. His songs have no hidden meaning either, every song ive heard by him is either about death/muder/rape, his only decent song is "Harlem streets", which Akon has a few songs similar too.IMO, rap/hip-hop/r and b is meant to be straightforward, and not have hidden meanings. If I want to anaylise lyrics, and have songs with ambiguis meanings, i look to st.peppers lonely hearts club, stairway to heaven, bob dylan etc. |
Keane – Nothing In My Way Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Does any one else think the intor sounds smilar to "Somewhere only we know"? |
Nelly Furtado – Promiscuous (featuring Timbaland) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree with The Howee on page 1, she is much hotter now! Anyway, to be honest, I much prefer this song to her older, folf-esque music, and is probabaly my favourite urban track at the moment. |
Coldplay – Clocks Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think this song is about a man nearing the end of the line, regretting things in his life, and opportunites he missed. At the end of the song, he kills himself, whcih is represenetd in "Home, home where I wanted to go". Maybe his life was good, now its bad, so maybe home is heaven, back to his old life? I don't know, all I know is Clocks is a brillaint song. |
Green Day – Holiday Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I have to agree with Pumpkin Head, Dookie etc are way bettter then the American Idiot album |
Keane – Your Eyes Open Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Keane have a lot of songs like this, eg everybody's changing, bedshaped, walnut tree etc about a friend forgetting about them/leaving them. |
Pete Murray – Better Days Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Real stuff?? Lol, depression/hard times i pretty damm real if you ask me lol |
Arctic Monkeys – Red Light Indicates Doors Are Secured Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song seems to be about a night out, and getting in a taxi following a bird! |
Violent Femmes – Blister in the Sun Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is actually not about masturbation. See Wkipedia for more deatils, but basically his inspiration for the song was the girl he liked came up to him and said he has small hands, so he wrote it from her perspective. |
Live – The River Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agrre with the colorsblue, I think it is a love song, with a bit of sex in it kinda.. anyway, I dont think its their best song ever, but the lyrics are nice. The music is a bit, too unoriginal, but they have changed so much from the "Throwing Copper" days |
Nickelback – Photograph Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Man, I love this song, I am still in High School, so I am not quite at this stage yet, but I still do reflect on days gone by, simpler times. |
Nickelback – Far Away Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think this is one of my favourite songs of all time. Although, I don't think the song is about this, I can relate the lyrics at present, as theree is a girl I love, but I don't think she loves me, so she is"far away" in a sense. |
Ben Lee – Into The Dark Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love this song, I think it is brilliant, I am in this situation at present, and when I am around her I am a different person, I am so happy! I have all these feelings... |
James Blunt – Wisemen Lyrics | 18 years ago |
When I first read the lyrics, I thought it was about rape, but now I beleive it it is about bullying. The pop idol idea was very good, but I don't think the rest of the lyrics quite match it. I think the :wisemen" wanting to have fun refers to their bullying of James for "fun" |
James Blunt – High Lyrics | 18 years ago |
EL Bastardo- I could be wrong, but back to bedlam is his first album, so how the hell could he have sold out? And what do you mean real instruments? Every song has a guitar of some sort, or piano, and sometimes drums. Anyway, I love this song, I think the lyrics are amazing, I just got BTB today, awesome album from the tracks I have listined to. |
Weezer – Island In The Sun Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think it goes "We'll never feel bad anymore". I think the song is basically about him on holiday with his girlfriend, and he is enjoying time with her. Then he is imagining that they will have their own "Island in the sun", and they can be with each other forever. |
Snoop Dogg – Drop It Like It's Hot Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree with Sherbit boy, finally someone tried to find some meaning behing this song, which for all you hip-hop haters, hav'nt been able to do |
Foo Fighters – DOA Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I have to agree with BretJRob, after looking at the lyrics, I agree, it does sound like a murder.... |
Live – The Dam At Otter Creek Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think this song is about him getting rid of person that he murdered, and regretting it. |
Robbie Williams – Tripping Lyrics | 18 years ago |
My mum says it is a political song... I guess... some parts are very similar to the Cronalla Riots we have had in Australia. |
Robbie Williams – Advertising Space Lyrics | 18 years ago |
It is about Elvis, in the film clip he is dressed up as Elvis! |
Powderfinger – Hindley Street Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I live in Adelaide too, Hindley Street is reagarded as the "druggie" part of the city. I would'nt know if it was the red light district, I have never been there at night. This could be in Adelaide, but I have never heard of a Todd Street in Adelaide. Add to that Hinley Street is nowhere near the ocean... |
Gorillaz – Clint Eastwood Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Yes! That makes sense, because geuss what their new song is called- Dirty Harry! But the religous point.. it is true the Goriilas only o after Murdoc, who is a satinist... |
Harvey Danger – Flagpole Sitta Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think this song, is about a weirdo who is "not sick( hasn't got a technical mental illness) but now well" (is not normal). That's just going out on a limb though. |
Idlewild – You Held The World In Your Arms Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree with Electricveil pretty much. I think the song is about realising that your youth has past you by. When youre at school, it is the same thing for years, day after day is the same, and you feel safe, secure. "You held the world in your arms tonight" I think that is just saying you feel like the world is yours when you are young, and that it feels like anything in the world is possible. And now the speaker realising his youth is drifting away.... |
Idlewild – American English Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I have to agree with Skate grilled Jebus. I think it is about bands, oftne American, that are in it for the money, and get others to write their songs for them. When he says "I think your young eithout youth" I think he means that they cannot write their own songs, so they are like boys playing against men in the music world. I agree with Pasiphae about the "American English" thing. |
James Blunt – You're Beautiful Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree with Lewgie "She could see from my face , I was fucking high" spoils the song. None the less, I still think it is a masterpiece! |
The Killers – Somebody Told Me Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think when he says "I ve got potentiol, he means he has potential in the bes so to speak. I think it is about him trying to pick up a girl. The chorus, I don't know, I think it could be him saying "We have both cheated on our partners, but who cares? It is not confedential!" |
Keane – Somewhere Only We Know Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree with Riven God 100% on this, in fact that is excaclty what I thought the song was about before I came here. I think in the first verse he is saying all he needs is nature to feel happy. I came across a fallen tree I felt the branches of it looking at me Is this the place we used to love? Is this the place that I've been dreaming of? Here, I think he is coming back to this "special place" and devolpment has started eg a tree being cut down, and he is thining to himself " Can this be the place that we all used to love?" |
Oasis – Wonderwall Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Personally , I don't really like the beatles, but that is just me. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Under the Bridge Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree it is about his drug addiction, but I also heard it was about the charcter in the song commiting suicide. |
Phantom Planet – Always On My Mind Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Man, I love this song. It happens to me all the time Everybody in this place get up and move away For all I care this towns already dead and empty Everytime I saw this girl I like, someone always has to come along (most of the time it si some tool I dislike), and I just wish everyone would go away. Also, everyone else becomes so insignificant, it does feel like the town is empty I also love the "If i COULD BLINK IF i COULD BREATHE) bit, because it describes me so well. IF I could just be myself around her, she might fall for me! BTW, the UK version (Alex Greenwald mix) is WAY BETTER!!! |
Live – I Alone Lyrics | 18 years ago |
To be honest, i had no idea what this song was about, except I knew it was religious. Now, going over the lyrics, I agree with the person who said it was about satan trying to tempt Adam and Eve. It is a very dark song, and that theme, and the video, just matches it. |
Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics | 18 years ago |
It must just be me..but I personally do not like it. I think this song gets very boring and is over rated. Having said that, I admire the guitar solo. |
Foo Fighters – Resolve Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I don't think it is about Kurt, it could be, but my first impression was about a breakup, or female friend dying. I don't think it is Kurt, purely because of the line "Dancing from across the room". I just don't picture Kurt dancing. Having said that, it could well be about Kurt. |
Robbie Williams – Angels Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I personally don't beleive that bullshit story about the guy in Dublin... I could just claim I wrote Wonderwall by Oasis, it does'nt mean I did... |
Uncle Kracker – Follow Me Lyrics | 18 years ago |
No way the song is about drugs.. the thought never crossed my mind... no way it is about drugs... It is about a girl having an affair with him. Simple as that. No "hidden meaning". I just don't think it is about drugs, the whole tempo and the sound of the song is just not suited to drug use. |
Audioslave – Like a Stone Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is one of my alltime favourite songs! Anyway, this is just my opinion of what the songs is about 1st verse- He knows he is about to die, and is reading the bible, which leads into the 2nd verse, where he realises when he dies, he wants to go to heaven, but to do that he will need to repent his sins. To a place I recall I was there so long ago The sky was bruised The ground was bled And there you led me on I have no idea what the above means- maybe a dead girl, who he wants to go to Heaven for, and he is rembering a dream about her, and it is what he thinks Heaven will be like? Then in the 3rd verse, I think he reads on, and has a moment of clarity where he realises every thing he has done wrong. Then "In dreams unitl my death, I will wonder on", I don't know... could be a reference to the "sky was bruised" place, he will wonder through that in his dreams with the girl? |

Keane – Walnut Tree Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love how Keane use metaphores, and brillaint language to describe things. I agree Kanita 100% on the meaning. |
Keane – Bedshaped Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love this song, one of my favourites on the album. Anyway, I think the song is about two lovers. Person A is a "popular girl" kind of thing, but when they were young that did'nt matter, and they got along well. But as time goes on, she wants to sepereate herself from him, because he is "weird", not on her wavelngth, dragging her down socially etc. With the sun in your eyes And on your own Bedshaped And legs of stone You'll knock on my door And up we'll go In white light I don't think so Here, I think Person B is dreaming that she will come back to him, but the last line suggests he thinks, or knows it will never happen. When you says " You'll follow me back, with the sun in your eyes", I think Person B is hoping she "sees the light" (hence the sun), and go back to him, because, while she is popular, or thinks she is, he will be the only true friend she ever has. |
