I VERY much doubt Anthony is having a relapse and he's hinting that in his lyrics (like someone said). Even if he did that before (in One Hot Minute actually), it doesn't mean he's doing it again. Back then he would refuse to explain the meaning of the songs, claiming that he hated doing that (but since the songs were about his drug habbit, he most likely just didn't want to talk about it). Now he happily explains what a song is about, and he does it in a very convincing way. Ok that being said, I, in no way, think this song is about drugs. And yes, Anthony has written songs that deal with drug issues before, but to say he has written songs merely about drugs is somewhat shallow. He has written about his dark side, the anxiety he felt as a drug addict, and the consequences of being one, among other things.
And finally, my opinion of what this song is about. Well, to me it's about your friends insparing you and making you happy. |

To me this song is about how change is necessary in life. They, as musicians, can't stay the same for ever ( We've got to move it / If we want to do our best / We've got to shake it / If we want to keep it fresh). They have to try new things in order to keep creating art and grow as both people and artists. That's why there will never be a second BSSM (like many people would like... not me though... and I love that album). |

The first thing that came to my mind when I read these lyrics was the typical high school girl that's only nice to you when she wants something from you, but ignores you the rest of the time. And you may think you're good friends with her and start caring for her... but she only uses you as she pleases. No? That only happened to me? Oh well. :)
And I know this song is probably about something more important... like global warming or some other global problem, that was just my interpretation. |

I hate songs about relationships... so I will not take this as one. I think Radiohead's lyrics are darker, deeper and more intelligent than those kinds of songs... anyway this song is great. It means a lot of things to me... I really can't explain them and I don't think anyone is interested... but I had to say it. |

Exellent song, my favorite from Mother's Milk. Anthony's voice sounds amazing and the music is absolutely great, the trumpet playing by Flea was the perfect way to end this song. I really REALLY like it. |

"I'll be waiting with a gun and a pack of sandwiches" is my favorite line. Along with the rest of the song, it gives the feeling that the persona is... not reasoning too well... that he has been bullied so much that his mind is severely damaged. The anger he has is just too much... he needs to get rid of it... he needs to eliminate the causes of his hatred and pain... or maybe not... I don't know :) |

I've seen that live version too and the reason Thom laughed was because Jonny hit the wrong note.
About the meaning of the song Thom said Ok Computer didn't have any love song because he wasn't in love at the time but this could be taken as one if you wanted to. I personally think it's about second chances in life and not caring any longer about superfluous things. |

There's more to this song than just sex. Anthony is telling us that he's a man with some weaknesses (just like the rest of us), he's not even close to being a perfect man and he would never want to be one. Being perfect would mean that he has nothing else to experience, he wouldn't learn from his mistakes beacuse he wouldn't make any. He lives doing the best things he can, taking advantage of his lifetime. (I didn't think of this song this way, until I read an interview, anyway, that's just my opinion ) |

I think the title "crush with eyeliner" is used to describe how peple "love" to invent an image of themselves, that they think is going be accepted by the others, instead of showing who they really are. "Eyeliner" stands for anything that people do to cover their true personality. |

I believe there's only one kind of friends; the good ones, "bad friends" aren't actually friends at all. I think the meaning of friendship is very underrated, people think they have a lot of friends when they actually might just have a few (which is not a bad thing at all). I think the message of this song is, "Keep your true friends close to you, don't waste your time trying to be liked by the people who don't accept you for who you are" |

I take this song as a manifestation against materialism, against exploitation and the way people disguise it to ptotect their businesses and social position. I think that in this song Michael describes the way a corrupt rich parent would explain to his kid the ways to make big money (dishonest ways are always easier and more effective) and still looking like a decent person in the process. I really like this song =) |

I think it's about politicians and how during their political campaign they sell a good image of themselves but once they gain power they break the promises they've made. I think Thom is saying that politicians are supposed to be there to serve people, that they are supposed to improve society but unfortunately they are corrupted (rotten fruit / damaged goods). The day they assume power is the day we fall into their arms, the day we finally realize who they really are (Honeymoon Is Over). |
