Dissection – Maha Kali Lyrics

@[Lord_nephthys:6504] Thank you so much for the insight!
I know you think its somewhat ironic, but do you think its actually very sad since Kali is the destroyer of evil, and Nödtveidt called for her to take him? |

Very moving. I've listened to this on repeat for 30+ minutes, once..
I think its about Lucifer as he was cast out of heaven. |

Coheed and Cambria – Random Reality Shifts Lyrics
| 11 years ago

Just a quick note about the melody in the first 30 seconds. Claudio sings the first few lines exactly like Queen sang this part in Bohemian Rhapsody :
"Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead"
Coincidence or not? |

Coheed and Cambria – Random Reality Shifts Lyrics

To be devil's advocate, I'd only dispute the softness towards the end. Sometimes people take on an emotional "calm" before the storm. I wonder if she watched Sirius struggle and fail to help her move onto nirvana. The last like is "Oh I think I made a mess". It could be the acceptance of eternal regret. |

Coheed and Cambria – Here We Are Juggernaut Lyrics
| 11 years ago

"Here we are Juggernaut" is also a phrase of endearment, and personal to Claudio and his wife..That may explain why it seems confusing. An earlier interpretation suggested it is Coheed and Cambria saying that to each other, not to Ryan. |

Coheed and Cambria – 2's My Favorite 1 Lyrics

He definitely won't come back. He just wants her to cross over peacefully, but he has to go through hell to help her get to (the story's version of) heaven. It's suicide, I think. And atonement for not making her priority when he had the chance. He killed her. |

Coheed and Cambria – The Afterman Lyrics
|
Right on. I think a lot of people can relate to being told one thing, then being shown through action it's not as it appears. There's no doubt that Sirius loves his wife, but his heart is clearly elsewhere..literally.
It's heartbreaking in the sense that the tragedy is that it didn't have to be this way, yet if it wasn't then the "magic" behind Keywork may not have been discovered. |

Coheed and Cambria – Key Entity Extraction I: Domino the Destitute Lyrics
| 11 years ago

I figured the song was so much more than the story. The dedication he put into it with intricacies like the maniacal laughing, which weren't in any other recent songs let me know this was personal for him. It's great how he managed to distance himself from the story, allow creative process, yet expose so much of his personal experiences to the audience. It's why I've been a coheed fan since IKSSE:3. |

Nice interpretation disturbed. I also think it's two people, but it doesn't necessairly need to be two in a relationship. It's definitely one person calling another out on being a hypocrite. |

Volbeat – Heaven Nor Hell Lyrics

Love this band. Heard of them for the first time last month, and I've been addicted since.
Anyway, the lyrics are fairly straightforward in my opinion. A sinner is singing about a slight apathy he feels regarding the return of Satan on earth.
Everyone talks about the end, and that's what the song is about. |

Seriously people, I first heard this when I was 14 and figured it out. Thank goodness Twilight didn't exist and I could think for myself...
At least, there was no way I could link this to Harry Potter, haha.

Whatever it's about, it rocks. It makes me question something, espcially when he asks what we couldn't do without money. I've never thought of life's opportunity to gain wealth as a bad thing.
The passion in his voice is so deep.

Avenged Sevenfold – Fiction Lyrics

It sounds like the point of view of someone who died but watches over loved ones. Like they finally get to let them know they are alright and experiencing peace.
I heard this on a road trip. I knew it was sad as it started. You can hear the grief and mourning. I almost cried.
I asked my friend if I could play it a second time and heard some of the lyrics..I had to read them while listening.

Not that I am saying it's one way or another, but "mother said it all" is something I've said before. There are things our parents tell us that we don't take into consideration until it's too late... |

I'm not saying I disagree with you. I think your interpretation is wonderful, but just because A7x has a history of using religious megaphors and references doesn't mean they are limited to it.
If their video for Dear God was similar to Almost Easy, would you say "I thought this was about love, but now after watching the video I see it's about the devil mocking him"?
I wouldn't.
I think it's very possible this song could have both or either meanings, but don'tlet your original interpretation be altered because of a music video. Many artists make music videos that have nothing to do with the song's actual meaning. When I saw the video, I thought of Coheed and Cambria who have a storyline for their songs, but make off-the-wall music videos that mostly have nothing to do with the sotriy or theories of the story for that matter.
Either way, I like your interpretation but I'll stick with your firsty thoughts on it. They were mine too. They sound like someone who regrets treating another badly (doesn't have to be romantic), but not wanting them to leave. |

Avenged Sevenfold – A Little Piece of Heaven Lyrics

It felt like 10 minutes live...about 10 too short. This song could of gone on forever as far as I'm concerned. It's one of the best written and creepiest visual nightmare inducing songs I've ever heard.
They gave me a whole new 9/11 memory, and even took time to honor the dead......after singing about necrophillia of course. |

Falling out of love is hard
Falling for betrayal is worst
I feel for her and anyone else who had their heart broken. My heart wasn't broken, because I did not trust him, but believe me when I say a broken ego hurts too. To have the "possibility" of a relationship dangled on a string and sacrafice your pride with false hope is ill advised.
If you try it, you're sure to be hurt.
When you meet someone full of promises, run. |

Harry Chapin – Cats In The Cradle Lyrics

It's a collection of old folk tales like "Hey diddle diddle the cat and the fiddle" kind of twisted in a way like trying to hold onto innocence as everyone in the story grows up. |

The first time I heard this was when I was 6. I remember loving how it sounded but finding it difficult to listen to in full. As I grew older and was able to understand the words and how powerful they are...
what a story.
I still find it difficult, but that's a good thing. Sometimes we need a reminder of how important quality time is. |

It's funny people replied and gave you negative points, the attention you wanted.
It's also funny they are mocking your opinion or even offended, because a reaction like that usually indicates you struck a chord...perhaps the truth? |

Apocalyptica – S.O.S. (Anything But Love) (Feat. Cristina Scabbia) Lyrics
| 13 years ago

The closest example I can think of to help you relate, Crooner, is abused animals. Have you ever seen a battered dog leave it's owner?
Have you ever seen an abused cat run away?
I have seen neither. They stand by their owners and love their owners no matter how poorly they are treated, that is the 'love' they know of.

Apocalyptica – S.O.S. (Anything But Love) (Feat. Cristina Scabbia) Lyrics
| 13 years ago
|
If the song were about a woman who did not appreciate anything, I would agree with Crooner, but it's not.
If you ever see a battered woman, she is most likely in an addictive relationship and is codependent, as you will read/listen to in the song she can not leave no matter how much she wants to. Battered woman will say things like "anything but", because they know what they receive is all they receive. She could appear as a woman settling for anything, but what's really going on is that she has been convinced she can not do better.
It's a painful experience, and unless you have seen it for yourself or experienced it, women like that could appear to be unappreciative when they are really dependent and depressed.
Have you ever tried to appreciate anything while depressed? I have, I can't. |
