cant believe no-one has wrote about this song. im sure if it was better known they would have. with Liam Gallaghers vocals this song is an absolute gem! and in my view it HAS to be about going out and getting on it large! "If I don't go crazy, I'll lose my mind" basically saying that you need to get out and have fun and do 'whatever' otherwise you will just go crazy with the normal monotonous bullshit that life kicks up absolutely LOVE IT! |

Yes to clarify Paul Weller did write this song when in the Jam.... and what a fooking song it is!!! I LOVE Noels version though, i think its all about everyone having similar aspirations through life, wanting to be in the limelight lapping up the fame. but what it comes down to at the end of the day is that we are all made of the same material, no matter what happens, we should just all concentrate on enjoying our lives... making the most of what you've got. Having a nice time!!! a couple of changes to the lines that i have on a live version are as follows: - "getting DRUGGED UP with my trendy friends" "and I CANT AFFORD A TAXI, SO I'LL have to walk love this song. |

lyrical genious - i dont wish to comment. I want to hear a couple more of his albums before i decide to class as 'genious'. But what i DO know, is that this song is one of the simplist, most heart rendering, emotional masterpieces i have ever heard. it could be interpreted as 'cheesy', but you have to look past that. this song connects with so many people - its simplicity is its key. when i first heard this song i just put it repeat and learned every word. so moving... |

love it... i think most people have covered the basic principals JK is trying to put across... i.e. technology is becoming so overwhelming in this day and age that we are becoming / have become totally dependant on it. it was a bit of a wake up call back in the 90's for people to open their eyes and see that there's more to life. personally i think this song is still as poignant and relevant now as it was when first released. and on top of it all - IT SOUNDS GREAT and has a video to match! (quite ironic when you think about the car collection JK owns though - how many million pounds worth of useless technology has he got sitting in his garage?) |

ditto... not much more you can say on this is there really? great song. powerful song. moving song. emotional song. just makes you glad that there are people in this world that posses the imagination and ability to write such beautiful music and express to untold amounts of people how they were feeling on a particular night, and in-turn knowing that (unfortunately) there were many more before him, and will be many more after him that will go through the same situation... this song connects with so many people on so many levels. well done athlete...! |

AWESOME! TOTALLY AWESOME! I saw these live in Hyde Park last night and they blew me away... so much energy and power on stage... this song is fantastic... not 100% on the meaning, i think what lindie said is the closest i have seen to making some sense out of it?! couple of errors in the lyrics above tho... its "see the left man no protection" and "tell his family that he will be ok" - however, i think that in the hidden track after u-boat it then says "tell his family that he WONT be ok" |
