The Strokes – Two Kinds Of Happiness Lyrics 13 years ago
"What's lovely is that one's for the end"

I'm pretty sure it's "One's the means, and one's for the end."

Simon and Garfunkel – Flowers Never Bend With The Rainfall Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is about depression.. about the sense of tedium in feeling isolated. A motif of dark and rain accentuates the idea of having no direction and no one to run to. Paul Simon was short and dark-haired - "an image dark and small" - but also of course that is a metaphorical phrase. Anyone who's been depressed should be able to relate to this, I think.

Simon and Garfunkel – Blessed Lyrics 19 years ago
Blessed is everyone but Paul Simon. Although I think he used to be a bit of a groovy looker.. The last line sums it up if you didn't get it from "I got no place to go," etc.. He feels alone and forsaken [abandoned] and is asking "Why?"

Simon and Garfunkel – A Poem On The Underground Wall Lyrics 19 years ago

Simon and Garfunkel – Cloudy Lyrics 19 years ago
This song perfectly captures the essence of being high. On what, that's up to you.. "My thoughts are scattered and they're cloudy..."

Simon and Garfunkel – Fakin' It Lyrics 19 years ago
The bit about being a tailor came to Paul Simon in the middle of a "hash reverie," as he put it. It occurred to him that, had he lived in an earlier time, he would most likely not be a musician. He would have a regular job, and he fancied that he would have been a tailor. Afterward, his father mentioned to him that his grandfather or great-grandfather had been a tailor, and his name was also Paul Simon. Also, this song is my favourite. Art's harmonies under the verses... oh my.
