Which version is the censored version? The one I has the 'clean' changes that Garue mentioned, but everything else is intact, including the obscenities. |

Me First and the Gimme Gimmes – One Tin Soldier Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
I'm not sure what the siginificance of a tin soldier is, but I think that one of him is because the true treasure is brotherly love. we will never truly destroy ourselves because someone will always win, leaving one last person. however, because no one else is left for him to share the true treasure with, he is alone and loses in the end. |

I think this song is a lullaby...it just fits, you know? it's kind of a sweet way to inform your children of how life goes...when I have kids, I will definately sing it to them... |

this is quite possibly my favorite song on the new album, which would follow a trend of title songs (winning days and highly evolved are my favorite songs on their respective albums.) |

i love this song...its so light and sunny, with a deep core...i love listening to this song while cruising around on sunny days...the funny thing about the whole "beginning of side two" thing is that i actually have the vinyl of this album, and this song is the end of side 1, not the beginning of side two...oops hehe |

this song is freakin amazing...i cant believe no one has commented on it yet...

Bob Dylan – Like a Rolling Stone Lyrics

personally, i think Rolling Stone only chose this song as number 1 as promotion...eh
isnt it sad that this song only has three pages of comments, while a song like American Idiot has thousands of pages of the same damn "OMG BUSH IS A NAZI LOLZ" comments? i mean, come on! listen to something with substance!
btw, i agree...greatest song ever... |

Peter Gabriel – Steam Lyrics

|
great song...it used to be my favorite...
i've always interpreted this as a kind of "hit me with your best shot" kind of song...give me life, you know? someone once posted that the person he is singing about knows everything about everything, but knows nothing about themselves or anyone around them. and he knows nothing about anything, but knows her, and that's whats' important to him...i like that |

Peter Gabriel – Digging In The Dirt Lyrics
| 18 years ago

this song seems to me to be about looking back on an angry, abusive relationship, and stopping to realize how badly you fucked up. and that's what digging in the dirt is. wading through the anger and pain to learn from your mistakes. |

Peter Gabriel – Secret World Lyrics

most definately the keystone to US. It sums the whole melancholy, hopeless feeling of loss in a delicate web of absolution..."In this house of make believe/divided in two, like adam and eve" i love those lyrics so much... |

Peter Gabriel – Kiss That Frog Lyrics

based on the theme of the Us album (one of the greatest albums ever haha), i would say that this album is about the fundamental differences between people, specifically between the sexes...and how that no matter how well we get along, there are always those differences, and to certain people, those differences can ruin a relationship... |

Eagles – The Last Resort Lyrics

i think this song describes how individuals can be innocent, but as a population, we destroy everything we touch...in this case, it describes land and how we run in holding a cross, as if god wants us to destroy his planet, and once we've grown bored of everything, we cry about how we fucked up. however, it's an empty guilt, because we just go and to it again...
sorry, i'm a bit of a nihilist haha |

Eagles – New Kid In Town Lyrics

I don't think this song has anything to do with politics, and neither does most of Hotel California. after all, the title track is an indictment of the state hollywood was in at the time that it was written. I think this song is about how people can often let being hot shit get in the way of their true self, and then the letdown when they realize that the people who were drawn to them when they were popular are only interested in the popularity itself. It would make sense as a sister track to Hotel California, and would explain why they are together on the album...all in all, one of my fav Eagles tracks |

hey "ZeppellinRockOn", you are way totally off...first off, paul DIDNT die...think of it this way: b-list celebrities cant fuck without it being news. What's the possibility of Paul McCartney dying and having it simply be a cult controversy? and also, if you spent more than five seconds reading some fucktard's flash page about backmasking, you would realize that Stairway to Heaven's Satan references aren't backmasked, but rather naturally occuring phenomena...god i wish people would research more before spouting off about this shit...
anyway, im done ranting...this song is amazing. it's great to listen to when you want to kill ten minutes or so, because it immerses you in the music totally... |

regarding the screaming...i forget where i learned this, but the part after "call me pathetic, call me what you will" is Mike or Tre screaming "Screw you!", the same with the part at the end, but whoever it is is screaming "Sue!", suggesting either yelling out a girl's name while pulling it, or suggesting a lawsuit...who knows! hahaha |

This is probably my all time fav Green Day song...but i have a story to go with it (no, its not about masturbation XD). the other day, i was crankin this song really loud, and my sister (who\'s a GD \"fan\" based solely on the stuff off American Idiot they play on the radio) comes in and is like \"what is this crap? that sounds like Green Day, but it sucks\" needless to say, i went off on her about her lack of music appreciation and how much of a damn poser she is...i actually felt better afterwards...lol |

It was a pretty good song the first 20,000 times i heard it...then it just got boring and repetetive...
I\'m not going to be pretentious and say the album sucked because it was mainstream, but the masses really are destroying it, one song at a time...its only a matter of time before i\'ll be sick of Holiday...at least Jesus of Suburbia and Homecoming will never be played this much |
