The Dead Milkmen – Watching Scotty Die Lyrics 6 years ago
Hilariously sad.

submissions
Loudon Wainwright III – Homeless Lyrics 6 years ago
About Loudon's mother and how much he missed her after she died. He was so devastated that he sought therapy. He acknowledges he is getting better, but, obviously, will never be completely over it.

Buzzcocks – Noise Annoys Lyrics 8 years ago
No has anything to say about one of Buzzcocks' all-time classics? I guess the lyrics are kind of repetitive, but, still...

submissions
Buzzcocks – Oh Shit! Lyrics 8 years ago
Wow I never knew what it was about until just now when I reads the lyrics.

submissions
Buzzcocks – Promises Lyrics 8 years ago
Great love gone bad song.

submissions
Buzzcocks – Love You More Lyrics 8 years ago
Perhaps their greatest song, starts so positive and happy, has the joyous chorus always sung loudly at live shows, and then rips your heart out at the end.

Buzzcocks – Why She's a Girl from the Chainstore Lyrics 8 years ago
I used to think "chainstore" was British-speak for jewelry store. But now I think it means a store that is part of a"chain of stores," like K-Mart or Target in the US.

Which is right?

submissions
The Dead Milkmen – Beach Party Vietnam Lyrics 8 years ago
"Annette, she wants Frankie's ring
Frankie wants Annette's thing
They're layin' on the West Coast
There's gonna be a wiener roast"

Even funnier!

submissions
The Dead Milkmen – Death's Alright With Me Lyrics 8 years ago
"Death's alright with me
It's a chance to grow"

Hilarious lyric!

Buzzcocks – You Say You Don't Love Me Lyrics 9 years ago
I always loved this song, but never knew how sad it was until someone pointed out the lyrics to me.

submissions
Art Brut – Moving to L.A. Lyrics 9 years ago
I like that part where he sings "The first thing I'm gonna do
Is strip naked to the waist" and then the rest of the band whistles at him.

So funny.

Art Brut – I Found This Song In The Road Lyrics 9 years ago
I cannot find anywhere that Art Brut did this song. What album is it on?

submissions
Art Brut – Is Dog Eared Lyrics 9 years ago
Oh I get it after reading the lyrics. I didn't know it was about a relationship.

submissions
Art Brut – DC Comics and Chocolate Milkshake Lyrics 9 years ago
I think he says:

She's a girl who likes comics;
She probably gets a lot

That makes more sense and is hilarious to turn it around and say a girl really gets a lot. Usually that would be said about a guy.

The Goo Goo Dolls – A Million Miles Away (The Plimsouls cover) Lyrics 9 years ago
Great song off a great album that was the last good one they ever made, apparently.

The Nerves – Hanging on the Telephone Lyrics 9 years ago
I love the Blondie version and this one(the original) is just as good!

and this song is why I bought the CD

The Nerves – When You Find Out Lyrics 9 years ago
This song about being dumped by the love of your life rings true to me. When he sings "When you find out I was the one
I'll be gone,"

and then "When you find out
It's gonna be pretty hard on you," it means that she was going to be pretty broken up when, after going through perhaps, several guys, she finally realized that he was the one she should have stayed with.

Blondie – Hanging on the Telephone Lyrics 9 years ago
@[1little2little3littleIndians:3161]

Blondie is a group, not a person.

The Mr. T Experience – Love Is Dead Lyrics 9 years ago
If you just read this, with lines like: "still there's not a sadder lie than I love you."

and:

"It's cold dark and stormy and there's nothing for me out there anyhow,"

it is a very depressing song, for anyone that has ever been dumped. But when you listen to it, it seems almost a happy tune.

Shonen Knife – Twist Barbie Lyrics 9 years ago
Classic live song

submissions
Visqueen – Vaxxine Lyrics 9 years ago
It's been years since I submitted the lyrics for most of these Visqueen songs and depressing only one person has commented on them. This song, perhaps their greatest, included.

And they are gone now, so I suppose no one ever will.

submissions
The Thermals – It's Trivia Lyrics 9 years ago
I always thought it was about a couple's relationship.

submissions
The Thermals – Remember Today Lyrics 9 years ago
One of their best songs, especially live, that is when they used to play it live. I wish I could go back in time and see them again when they only had two albums out. Those shows were unreal. And they are gone forever. Now they don't even play many songs off the first two.

submissions
Loudon Wainwright III – White Winos Lyrics 9 years ago
He always plays it live

submissions
7 Year Bitch – Scratch Lyrics 9 years ago
It is called "The Scratch," not Scratch. Better than calling it "The Itch" like one review apparently did, back in the day.

submissions
7 Year Bitch – Hip Like Junk Lyrics 9 years ago
I think it is about their guitarist, Stefanie Sargent, who did die of a heroin overdose.

submissions
The Dead Milkmen – I Tripped Over The Ottoman Lyrics 9 years ago
In the background when they sing "I brought you death," you can hear Richie shout "oh boy!" As a big Dick Van Dyke Show fan, I seem to remember him yelling "yay" more often in response to Rob bringing him something, although he may very well have said "oh boy!" sometimes.

submissions
The Dead Milkmen – If I Had A Gun Lyrics 9 years ago
It has been over ten years since my original post. This is one of the greatest Dead Milkmen songs. No one else has any thoughts?

submissions
The Dead Milkmen – Laundromat Song Lyrics 9 years ago
They played this live tonight! One of their very best songs. Whole song is great, best line is: "she's drying her jeans, in separate machines."

submissions
The Dead Milkmen – I Walk the Thinnest Line Lyrics 9 years ago
Listening to this song right now and saw Dead Milkmen tonight and they did play it. What does it mean? It is about a guy who walks a very thin line between the good and bad sides of his mind.

submissions
The Dead Milkmen – Tiny Town Lyrics 9 years ago
I always thought they were singing "we love the abuse."

submissions
The Dead Milkmen – Dean's Dream Lyrics 9 years ago
Saw them live tonight, and when they played that song, it was truly memorable! The lyrics are not on the CD, so reading them here was the first time I knew what was being said (if they are right, how can you be sure?)

Ramones – Carbona, Not Glue Lyrics 17 years ago
Except that it was in America that it was originally censored. Besides we have nothing but censorship in the US. Have you listened to radio lately? Tell Don Imus or Howard Stern or who is it, Opie and Anthony, that there is no censorship here. On TV you can see actual medical procedures like surgery with all the blood and guts or you can see simulations of murders and rapes, but you can't see half a nipple or the word "shit" on TV.

Sonic Youth – Tunic (Song for Karen) Lyrics 17 years ago
I remember Thurston saying once in an interview, that they were singing a bunch of different Carpenters songs in the background. Hard to make out more than one or two though.

Me neither. I guess their new album out in August is way more political than their first two.

submissions
The Thermals – A Stare Like Yours Lyrics 18 years ago
I just saw them last night and this song was the third one they played. It was amazing.

The Rezillos – Flying Saucer Attack Lyrics 18 years ago
Thanks for posting this, I just got the Rezillos CD and I was dying to know the lyrics.

Visqueen – Zirconium Gun Lyrics 19 years ago
Wow I didn't know that about the submarine thing. And thanks for posting something. I put all these lyrics in almost three months ago and someone finally posted something. I even posted on the Visqueen website that the lyrics were here, but no one responded. Seeing Visqueen on July 1. Can't wait.

Then it is not really a Pixies song, is it?

The Dead Milkmen – Bleach Boys Lyrics 19 years ago
I love this song--coming right after Punk Rock Girl, those were the two I used to know all the words to. But I never had the nerve to actually drink bleach. Can't even stand the smell.

The Dead Milkmen – How It's Gonna Be Lyrics 19 years ago
Like "The Secret of Life," this ambitious song only summarizes up a lifetime in one song.

submissions
The Dead Milkmen – Bitchin' Camaro Lyrics 19 years ago
And there are many different openings to the song, a couple of which have been recorded, but who knows how many they have done total.

Buzzcocks – Boredom Lyrics 19 years ago
I couldn't believe Boredom wasn't submitted yet. Certainly one of my all-time favorites and nearly always done live. The lyrics need no explanation, and are in fact quite hilarious.

Ramones – I Don't Want to Grow Up Lyrics 19 years ago
I recently got what I think is the original version by Tom Waits. Both versions are good, although much different from each other.
