Peter Gabriel – Solsbury Hill Lyrics 18 years ago
It's not about Jesus. "Turning water into wine" is a biblical reference, but is also a common allegory for radical or unorthodox change. Last I knew Peter wasn't into writing the gospel.

It was written as Peter was leaving Genesis and looking to become the solo artist that he is today. Just because it is about him leaving a band, certainly does not make it less deep or meaningful. The lyrics are inspirational and meant to open to individual interpretation. He wrote about his own feelings and experiences but let it be vague enough so that others could apply it to their own lives.

Bright Eyes – Lover I Don't Have to Love Lyrics 19 years ago
Conor is a very prolific and honest songwriter, and yes, very very sexy inside and out. About the "I want a boy lyric"...my guess is that it more written from her perspective. It sounds as if the song was written very closely from real life, based on certain events. However, as all good song writers, within the specifics he also uses examples that are meant to be ambiguous. I think he just wrote the song and didn't over analyze it, or didn't care. Whether or not he's bisexual I don't think it's exactly about that - either it's from her perspective or it could be construed as an "I'll take anything" kind of desperation, which inofitself is probably more interesting.
