To me, it means a time period lost in our country when skinny dipping was considered risky and exciting (1950's-1960's) Now, its no big deal because of our hustle and bustle lifestyles too busy to have any innocent youthful fun. Theres a private swim club near my house. I have sneaked in on occassion with friends and weve dipped in after hours. Its a rush and we're all in our 30's. |

This is the song that got me into B.S. I first heard this song on a BMX video called Trail Blazin' way back in 1996 when I was in college. I found out it was Bouncing Souls and I promptly bought their cd. Later that year, They played my college when NO ONE heard of them and I was the only one who knew them. Had a few beers with them after the show, great guys. |

In 1992 I saw an MTV Rockumentary (remember those?) on The Cure just around the time Wish was released. So Rawbutt said this song is simply about his love of Friday. THATS IT,PERIOD!!! . Straight from his mouth. He also said the song was originaly recorded at half the tempo to sound slow and dreamy. He wasnt happy with it and ALMOST dropped it from the album. But the boys in the band suggested playing it faster, which eventually pleased dear Bobby and the song was saved. Oh joy!!! |

Nice words sweetness. I cant really decide if the lyrics are sad or trying to be an expression of love. Well, obviously they are an expression of love. But is the about the end of a loveship, or one in instability? hmmm. It IS one of the most delicately beautiful love songs ive ever heard. And it does make me sad. |

First, the lyrics are slightly wrong. It should say "We can find someone to love" not "TO find someone to love". So you have to understand what the term Ghost of a Chance means. It basically means a slim to none chance. So I think Neil is saying that we all have a slim to none chance of finding someone to fall in love with and making that relationship work. Ouch! |

Yeah its a shame these guys broke up. I was emailing the drummer back and forth when they were together and about to break up. He gave me the news before they went public. Anyway, this song is VERY sad and most likely about loneliness and wanting to die because of longing for a deceased loved one. |

Probably my fav song of all time. from the moment i heard it first in 1987 and saw the video I knew I would like this band. I remember thinking how different they all looked and sounded from anything else I had known before ("gothic?") The song has trademark Cure keyboards and Porl's signature guitar lick.. And the video compliments the song perfectly. Beautifully sad. Yeah, it IS a shame it's so popular. True Cure fans want to keep it for themselves. |

True story. 1996 Im in college in the Mac lab and the "information superhighway" was new. So im in this chat room (Wow, people from all over the country talking in here at the same time?? amazing) and I see a name in the guest list, Elise. So I type to her "oh Elise it doesnt matter what you say" .... and she replies "I just can't stay here every yesterday" Holy shit!! she knows The Cure. We chatted every night. Sent emails (new at the time), eventually led to snail mail and photographs of each other, eventually led to phone calls (i was in Lancaster,PA she was in college in LA) ..remember, this was ALL before online dating. So we decided to meet up during winter break after communicating for 3 months (Actually, I graduated that Dec.96) I flew out there and spent a week with her at her home in Mesa, AZ and she came back with me to philly for a week. We fell deep for each other, but realised our real lives were 3000 miles apart, so it never went further. Thinking back, I dont believe in fate but it's amazing how it all happend because of this song. She was beautiful and I miss her. |
