This song is pretty much broken down to it, okay your either in love or in a relationship with someone, okay well this person either has feelings for another or is with another behind your back or sleeps with another, and then they tell you about it and it crushes you, then you tell them that you didn't want to know because it hurt you. You wanted to keep in the "shallow end". Okay so then you two go on trying to ignore this...acting like it never happend but that just hurts worse..."Ignore the smoke and smile" and it hurts so much and it makes it worse by ignore it that it turns you blue I guess.....bleh, anyways just the simple meaning of the song is how two go on ignoring something happend, putting it in the past before its even blown over... Something like that, but this song kicks ass....The radio version sucks, but the version thats on the album is worth listening to. |

This song reminds me of a guy who has messed up alot and wants to start over and forget about all the times he has messed up. So he runs away, then starts over again as someone new so that no one will know about these mistakes he has made. Great song, I recently just heard of these guys and I'm loving them, I've only heard two songs from them so far but both songs really kick ass, I'm thinking of maybe one day getting the cd I'm pretty sure I would enjoy it from the 30 second samples I heard from each song, awesome blend of Grunge, Alternative, Rock with a pink floyd-ish sound added to it all....Great song, definatly an awesome band with that mixture.... |

About a girl who has a very abusive father and he beats her and everything, and it really hurts her and everything, so one day she decides she is sick of it all and shoots her father... Hmm, I'm not too sure if its about a drug addiction or him just having a low self esteem and thinking lowly of himself(as the singer always seems to do in songs). I relate to some of this stuff in this song about the being a loser part, I used to really have a low self esteem and felt like I didn't deserve nothing but death, this song was exactly how I felt almost. It sort of reminds me of how we're all rough on each other espcially the kids of the times, putting each other down and such that all leads to feeling the same exact way as this song states. "Your holding the rope and I'm taking the fall, cuz I'm a loser sooner or later you know I'll be dead" and it also mentions how they are "pushing" him. Blah put simple its about a person who only wants to fit in and is an outcast and just gets picked on over and over again by everyone they're all pushing him so he feels like crap and has a low self esteem for it, or a Drug Addiction. Either way I really relate to the chorus... |

I believe its about being on the road away from the one you love, and you miss her like hell, and he's there without her as the song says out on the road(probably on tour) and he dreams about her thats his only way of seeing her for now, so he says that tonights its only him and her, meaning in his dreams, he will be dreaming and thinking of her nonstop and missing her until he sees her again. I love this song, it makes me sad to hear though if I ain't talking to the girl I love, I usually start thinking of her and missing her so much that it makes me cry...heh...I hate this song for that, yet at the same time I love it, its actually an awesome song so...yea...@_@ |

This song makes me think of being an outcast and trying to do many things to try and get people to respect you but it doesn't work "I walk a mile just to move an inch". But then realizing that you don't need those people who won't accept you, but you won't duck and run from them you won't turn away but you learn to stop trying to make them respect you and learn to say "fuck em" and move on, because now you realize that you can't earn their respects because they are complete assholes. So pretty much hes not going to give up on the world, but hes going to move on and not let them bring him down. My take on this one, I'm probably a bit off but this is the way I see it. Awesome song though. |

Its also about looking up to those who are nicer and do many things for people who go out of their way for any random person on the street. So in general its about looking up to people and feeling that you haven't amounted to anything and aren't as good as them and wish you could be just like them. My take on it anyway. |

I actually think this is a Tragic story put into a song... I think that its a friend of his that he cares for, and he doesn't wanna lose this person or anything but the person keeps getting worse and worse until they end their life... "Forfeit everything 'Cause you were never strong enough Close my eyes again And pray that i will not give up" Here he is saying that this person wasn't strong enough to survive, and it hurt him really bad seeing his friend in this shape, and then his friend killed themselves so now he is very sad and this really hurt him, but hes trying to not give up and not end up like his friend... "I try to see your face again A Photograph for me Your voice calling out again Nothing left for me You try to find your place again Waiting just to breathe Weakness takes your heart again You put it to rest" Once again he says that this person couldn't handle the pressure so they "put their heart to rest" because they could not find happiness anywhere, so now hes looking at a picture of this person and he misses them and it still saddens him, he wishes he had not lost his friend at all like this. "Did you forget about the things i said Fight the lies inside your head Deny those who try to bring you down Kill the pain and emptiness Find a love and lose yourself Without this life you're just a memory" Okay in this line, he tries to reach out to this friend of his and try to convince them that things will get better, and also give them some advice but they didn't take it and ended it all... This song is a great one, my favorite from OLP, and it is very fitting for Chris Benoit, I am a WWF/WWE fan and I love chris benoit. But this song, its about a person who has had enough and is now fighting, and will not stop, he will continue fighting until he reaches his dreams pretty much, very fitting...this song mixed with the ending of Wrestlemania, back in 2004 was awesome...the song fit the ending...when Benoit raised the belt over his head...I loved that moment mixed with this music, it inspired me so much. |

Well, the meaning I believe is something concerning being something your not, then hating yourself for it, getting all pissed off and depressed at yourself about it that you want to just play god and kill yourself to escape it all, and I believe that its reffering to that the singer doesn't want to be a trend setter, or "Trend setta" he just wants to be himself, but because of the music industry and such today, he can't do that, by becoming famous, he has become a trend setter, and he hates himself for it...
