i know this song was recorded in bellingham, since it's off of You Can Play These Songs With Chords, and State Street is in downtown Bellingham. it's not really a place where you'd want to walk down the street alone at night. |

Spunkle- Kelly Huckaby is a friend of the band, i guess ben just decided to write this song about him, as well as amputations. i don't know the exact details of the song, but i grew up in bellingham, and have some mutual friends of the band, so i end up hearing a lot of stories and what not about them. |

its about a girl Jen W., who ben recorded The Postal Service's "Give Up" with in Silver Lake, California. She is a beautiful bruntette. "I spent two weeks in Silver Lake... California sun cascading down my face. there was a girl with light brown streaks, and she was beautiful, but she didn't mean a thing to me." |

i actually know who this song is referring to. its a GUY names Kelly Huckabee, he worked at the Red Apple in Bellingham. I met him once, at a death cab show and he's a really nice guy. "Amputations" off of Something about Airplanes is also about him. |
