Queen – Teo Torriatte (Let Us Cling Together) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Although it more than an year since, thanks for the translation llewlyn! :) But even more interesting, I also received another translation to my e-mail back then which varies somewhat from yours. I'll copy it here: Brandi Schaefer to me 3/19/05 The translation for Teo torriatte konomama iko is Teo Torriatte konomama iko Let us cling together as the years go by Teo: hand/hands [doesn't distinguish between number] Torriatte: hold konomama: as it is iko: go Aisuruhito yo Oh my love, my love Aisuruhito: to a loved one yo: dear Shizukana yoi ni In the quiet of the night Shizukana: silent yoi: night/dusk ni: in/at Hikario tomoshi Let our candle always burn Hikario: light/lamp tomoshi: turn on; conected with fire [very poetic expresion] Itoshiki oshieo idaki Let us never lose the lessons we have learned Itoshiki: lovely oshieo: a word from God/instructions/something given by a respected or highly educated person or persons [a very religion word] idaki: keep/have ------------ Anyhow, I'm going to save both versions for myself. :) |

This song really rocks. The live version of Roger Taylor&Yoshiki from year 1994 (1995?) is definitely a must to see. :) |

Arr... that's exactly why I hate Wayne's World. The new generation came and relates the great song to a lame crap-movie. *sigh* |

Queen – The Show Must Go On Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I wonder in how many forums to I need to write this again and again til people actually remember it... *sigh* But well, I guess I can write it one more time. :) This song wasn't exactly written by Brian May. It isn't as simple as that. The idea behind this song came from Mercury himself, just that he had troubles expressing it exactly as he wanted, so he asked help from May. Some times later May showed up with these, "modified" lyrics. Later of course they said that it's written by May, but as I said, it isn't as simple as that. QueenFreak. Most of the time they didn't write lyrics together. However, on the later albums they decided to simply write it - "Lyrics: Queen" to avoid all the mess giving exact names gave. The lyrics still came from one of the four. |

ozonefiller, you forgot to mention T. Mann and his book "Doctor Faustus" which is also about that. ;) |
Queen – These Are The Days Of Our Lives Lyrics | 19 years ago |
TeoTorriate, you're slightly wrong in your post there. I read special essay-style-written study specifically about that. Freddy was the originial idea behind the song, then he told Brian about the idea and how he's having hard time expressing exactly what he wanted. Some time later Brian showed up with some words for that song (and Freddie liked them very much). So we could say that this song was kind of a cooperation. But now about this song. Can you give me something which would confirm that Roger wrote The Days of Our Lives? |
Queen – Who Wants To Live Forever Lyrics | 19 years ago |
People, please stop relating everything to AIDS and sexuality and what-not just because you can. As said, it's pretty unlikely that Brian May would write a song about AIDS. And also, it was written for a tv-series, ever occured that it might also be "strongly modified to fit the series"? |

Could someone please translate this song? |
Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Ok, after reading the comments here I listened the song once more, specifically for this. The line --> "Mama just killed a man" definitely has a coma there, so it should be --> "Mama, just killed a man" The way Mercury sings it and what emphasises make it clear that it is not Mama who killed the man. Secondly, the idea presented here saying that this song has a lot similar to Camus' "Stranger" was very interesting and intriguing for me. However, I'd take it even one step further! Dhaval (the one who proposed the Camus' theory, way up there, two years ago already, you're comments are welcome here. What I think is that while the connections to Stranger seem obvious there's also Kafka and his "Trial" and I think this song also - especcially the opera part - has a lot to do with Kafka's "Trial". |
