I think this song is about suicide, not someone commiting suicede but i guess the idea of suicde. "The key to nothing" is ceasing to exist, and then there is 'no more' anything. I do however like "mudvaynechick's" seasaw idea. I never thought of the song in that way, gives me something to think about:)

To me this song is about religion, (christianity) about a person who has been taught a certain belief system and finds that his/her "reality" is a lie, but then it goes beyond that and he/she starts to question everything they know and it's like a black veil has been lifted off this person's eyes, and while this person is on a journey to discover the truth he/she finds that there is no one and only truth.

I thought this song was about a person, waiting to die, to meet up with someone who has passed away already, this someone was very special and loved. So he awaits death, and when he dies he will be there in that house in the room, awaiting the reunion. In the Audioslave dvd, it is said that this song is about waiting for death.

I think this song is about a dying person, telling thier loved one (friend, wife/husband, sister/brother, daughter/son...etc.that it's ok and that they will be together agian. So I'd say it is from a spirit's point of view. How upon death "spirit" has found something so magical, but also by death has lost (temperarly) the people "spirit" loves, and "spirits" life on earth and everthing it held" which is also something so magickal.
