Avenged Sevenfold – Gunslinger Lyrics | 16 years ago |
It seems as if this guys, is dead now, and he's still talking to his fiancee, telling her that they'll meet in heaven some day, and that it doesn't matter, cause he'll be coming back to her ... |
System of a Down – Tentative Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I just find the part where they say : where do u expect us to go when the bombs fall , very cool. Is it Daron that's making the background vocals because he has really surprised in those last 2 albums. |
System of a Down – Cigaro Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I always thought that cock and cigaro are very much related. It's a message to all the people who think that their cock is big. SOAD is telling them to stick their cock up their mouth 'cause that's the way you smoke a cigaro..... |
The Killers – Somebody Told Me Lyrics | 18 years ago |
http://www.junk-mag.com/words/reviews.htm This is a great interpretation for the whole album .... |
Anathema – Angelica Lyrics | 19 years ago |
What a song.....I listen to it everyday...very sad.... |
Dire Straits – Sultans Of Swing Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Hey I'm 21 and I've been listening to Dire Straits for about 3 years...I heard once on the radio Brothers in arms and I was amazed about the way a very very slow song can be that exciting.... My friend has the Live Aid 1985 DVD and everyone should see the performance of Dire Straits.....the song is almost 10 minutes long and there's is an extension of it with lots of saxophone and it just blew my mind..... |
David Bowie – Rebel Rebel Lyrics | 19 years ago |
His first wife's name is ANGY..... She suggested that he stopps the folk songs and get into the kind of songs he does. She also suggested that he takes the Ziggy Stardust role and make himself gay....I don't know if he's in fact gay but that's what I heard.... |
Cradle of Filth – Hallowed Be Thy Name (Iron Maiden cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Sonata Arctica – Fade to Black (Metallica cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think that's great what SONATA ARCTICA have done with this song...it's a classic and they made even more beautiful... Between the 2 verses they add a new flair to the song and at the end they make it a little more mellow... But I have to say...the METALLICA ending is far more beautiful and sad.... |
Metallica – Fade To Black Lyrics | 19 years ago |
And I would like to add that in the end my explication seems more convenient because he says: Things are not what they used to be Missing one inside of me No one but me can save myself, but it to late Now I can't think, think why I should even try Try what??? I really think it's about trying to fight his illness... |
Metallica – Fade To Black Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I've always considered this song differently from the way you all see it.....hmmmm... I don't know why, but I think this song is about an old guy who has lived life to it's fullest and now that he's aged, he feels lonely and depressed so he's considering death as a solution for all his loneliness. I even think that this old dude is sick and he's not even willing to fight his sickness because he knows he's done everything he could've in his younger years and now it's simply not worth it.....and I quote : I have lost the will to live Simply nothing more to give There is nothing more for me Need the end to set me free He needs the end to set him free from his pain essentially. You could say it's about suicide but viewing it from this angle, why does he say there's nothing more for me??? I think it's because he's done all that he could in his youth.... He's maybe thinking of EUTHANESIA and I feel that FADE TO BLACK and ONE have a very similar meanings.... Other than that I would advice you to get the COVER made by SONATA ARCTICA because it's really good...of course they don't use the SOLO but it has a really good feel to it.... In between the two verses they add a little riff and they don't repeat the same riff Metallica uses four times but only 2 times....and I think that was the biggest weakness in FADE TO BLACK. Other than that I consider FTB as one of the 5 best Metallica songs ... |
Metallica – Seek & Destroy Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Puppetmaster...Why do you want to put it on a loud speaker in the middle east??? I think that this song has the best metal feel, after master of puppets of course. The first riff is simply irrestible.... I think that this song is about a gang that will ravage anything that comes in front of them because they are all waisted by hatred towards society,,,, |
Counting Crows – Big Yellow Taxi (Joni Mitchell cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Nobody commented on what does this song mean.. Well I think it's about how in the cities they kill the trees to put buildings and how they exploy the remained spots of nature to make money.... |
The Rolling Stones – Ruby Tuesday Lyrics | 19 years ago |
WAW...Kantsuu I think you got it with the name thing..... I definetively think that it's about a groupie. Other than that I don't think the song is that deep to look between the lines and try to figure out what does it mean. |
Symphony X – The Odyssey Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Hey...I've done some little research about the odyssey and for those who haven't a clue about what it is I'll tell you..don't worry. Well after the Trojan war where Ulysse had the idea of constructing a the Trojan Horse.....Ulysse wanted to go Back to his home Ithica 'cause he was away for 20 years (the siege of Troy lasted I think 10 years alone). So he returns in his ship and he encounters alot of obsitacles and Héra, I think, the daughter of Zeus, God of the Sun and God of all Gods, helps Ulysse in his journey. Ulysse is very intelligent and he always sails in the seas at night even though it is too risky and although his crew tells him not too. Finally he arrives to Ithica and decides to make a revenge against all of the men that tried to steal the heart of his beloved PENELOPE while he was away "Vengeance - it swells within me As I spy so many who eye my Queen I'll make them pay for this blasphemy... All will see" ... Nestor is a Greek counsellor who is very old and very wise.... |
Jet – Look What You've Done Lyrics | 19 years ago |
....because I can't find it in my CDs. |
Jet – Look What You've Done Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I've never heard of SEXY SADIE by the beatles...but because of this song now I have it....and seriously I can't see the ressemblance between the two songs (except some of the lyrics, I agree with you). I just want to know if someone knows where the drums in the middle ressemble to a Beatles song because I |
Symphony X – Candlelight Fantasia Lyrics | 19 years ago |
azathvurf....why are you speaking in SPANISH? It seems really interesting what you`re saying so please translate! |
Symphony X – The Odyssey Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Hey azothothvurf......can you please explain that in English....cause I can`t understand a thing you say... |
Jet – Are You Gonna Be My Girl Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Well I don't know about all of you guys...but I'm a huge rock fan...however I've never listened to Iggy Pop so I don't know LUST FOR LIFE. It could be a ripp off, but seriously, who cares, because of Jet I can now go and listen to Lust For Life and get to know Iggy Pop. So even if it is a bad thing...I think that they are keeping rock alive because you can always go back to old classic songs like SEXY SADIE by the beatles or the AC/DC songs.... ANd by the way, I think you can't expect all bands to sound different from their first two albums ....developping your own style requires 3 maybe 4 Cds and you can't judge them by those first attemps... |
Pink Floyd – Keep Talking Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Well I have to agree with a lot of what has been said...it isn't the best FLOYD song but it is still a very good song... even though some of you disliked the female vocalists ( the 5 of them) I still found that it is the best part of the song because of the way the vocalists are asking him to keep talking!! I'm not a huge Floyd fan...but I really liked this album , I prefer it to the Wall for example.... I think that it's due to the fact that the song are very mellow and have a certain "cry for help " in it. Hehe |
Dream Theater – Through Her Eyes Lyrics | 19 years ago |
In scene one on this site...you can see clearly the meaning of the entire album, DOOMSODIER explains it well enough!!!! So check it out in the first scene. |
Dream Theater – Regression Lyrics | 19 years ago |
WAW...Doomsoldier I think you've got it all figured out!!! What a great concept album, and I really liked how the singer James Labrie controls his highly-pitched voice better than the other albums. The best tracks on this one are The spirit carries on, finally free, HOME (what a cool ouverture of this song) . ROCK ON DT! |
Anathema – Anyone, Anywhere Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Anathema is a band greatly influenced by Pink Floyd. They are not well-known but I somehow got the chance to listen to that song and I think that if a prize should be given to the most sad and melancholic song I guess that anyone, anywhere would win the prize easily. The great thing about this song is that it lifts you up because you can say to yourself: wow look at that guy how lonely and unwanted he's....and look at me, I'm loved......so it reputs a smile on your face and you continue your day knowing that there are people in the world who are far more miserable than you are. To return to the meaning to the song one should know what Anathema means : One that is cursed or damned. So in that sensed the group shows that feeling thoroughout the album. Heresy means Adherence to such controversial or unorthodox opinion. In the end he's blaming society for all his trouble and for the wrong opinions they made about him. He's just wanting to be with somebody or even to have somebody who cares about him. |
Savatage – Believe Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song is just awsome...it pulls you up from a shitty day because after all it's about believe and faith....not christian faith but faith in general..... it could be the faith you have in your wife or your gf. If you see the song WHEN THE CROWDS ARE GONE you'll notice that the words are pretty similiar in the end of both song although each one of them talks about a different subject.... that shows how the same words put in different context can have two different approaches. |
Deep Purple – Soldier of Fortune Lyrics | 19 years ago |
The name of the singer isn't Ian Gillian??? |
Metallica – The Outlaw Torn Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Is it me or Metallica is the most visited band on this site?????? I found this site by wanting to know what BLEEDING ME meant...hehehe I've never heard this song from the album...I've only seen it on the S&M version but I really dig the way the orchestra gives a sense of the desert....you feel that you are seraching for her with the rest of the band..... |
Metallica – The Call of Ktulu Lyrics | 19 years ago |
There's somebody who said that the last 30 seconds kick ass....well on the contrary I feel that those 30 seconds make the song less emotional..... Great on the S&M specially because it introduces James, the Lars enters after like 20 seconds and when it explodes you can see Jason and Kirk enter the center stage.... |
Guns N' Roses – Knockin' on Heaven's Door Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song is about a film I think it's BILLY THE KID....a western and that's why you see the words BADGE and GUNS... I think Billy the Kid wasn't happy anymore killing people and thta's why he wants to put his guns away..... In Estranged, GNR also use some Dylan lyrics......walk so proud..talk so loud..... |
Guns N' Roses – Estranged Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This is one of the best Gun's N Roses song because it's is so deep and the lyrics are so emotional (I prefer it lyrics-wise to November Rain or Don't cry). I love when he says: And you don't talk so loud and you don't walk so proud It shows the influence Bob Dylan has on Axl and the rest of the band because it's almost the same two sentences as the ones in LIKE A ROLLING STONES. I have seen this song on DVD from the TOKYO 92' and I love the way he introduces the song and when he says: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN ON THE KEYBOARDS MR. DIZZY REID.....hehehe It's too bad that velvet revolver's have no piano player because it is one of the key elements in the success of GUN'S N ROSES. |
Rainbow – Catch The Rainbow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I don't have an idea about what does this song mean....but I think it's about high hopes in somethings .... : we believed we'd catch the rainbow but finally, life isn't that easy : life's a chains made with steel.. GREAT GREAT song, I have the live one it's like 10 minutes long and Ritchie Blackmore (the guitarist) plays a 3 minute solo, great song. |
Aerosmith – Dream On Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I believe that we can't say it enough but the DIO/MALMSTEEN is also great. It has a more hard rock feel to it and if you like Ronnie James Dio or Yngwie Malmsteen I think you'll prefer this version, if you prefer soft rock then stick to Aerosmith. Finally, I wanted to say that Eminem has ruined this song and I can't believe that some people know this song just because of him..... |
Ozzy Osbourne – Mr. Crowley Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I agree a lot with Mokushi....the Judas Priest version is a lot better because of the quality of the sound, JUDAS's vocalists gives intensity to this song that Ozzy will never be able to pull off. Even though you all think that Randy Roades and Zakk Wylde are great, well you should know that the Priest's version is played by the greatest guitarist: Yngwie Malmsteen. |
Iron Maiden – Hallowed Be Thy Name Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think that most of you agreed on the basics of the meanings of this song. I don't know if I'm right or not but I think that at the end he still believes in God and he makes a little prayer in his head... because after all how can we know if God really exists or not. He does his prayer" Hallowed be thy name" because I think that when you die you're pathetic to the point that you'd say anything to get salvation (that's the reason most of the old people go to church and most of the young people don't). |

Symphony X – Accolade II Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song reminds me a little of the Manowar style of Lyrics because it has a lot to do with courage and honor and dying for a noble cause. In this case it's the revenge of a father that hasn't died in vain and the son wants to stand and fight against a tyrant's reign. |
Joe Cocker – With A Little Help From My Friends Lyrics | 19 years ago |
See this song in the WOODSTOCK DVD...it`s amazing!!!!!!! Joe Cocker has this deep voice and I think that the sgt peppers version doesn't feel right compared to Joe's version!!!!! |
Metallica – Until It Sleeps Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Although I think that this song is about his dad's cancer....I although would like to think that's about the inner pain that he feels. It can be the pain caused by drugs, cancer or even maybe the lack of faith in others,,,,, |
Bob Dylan – Subterranean Homesick Blues Lyrics | 19 years ago |
When I heard this song I thought that I understood what the first paragraph meant. I think it's about a drug dealer, and there's a cop who comes and wants him to give him some or he'll have some trouble. The conditions that the police sets are too high. |
Bob Dylan – My Back Pages Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Have you heard the version with Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, Gerges Harrison, Van Morrison and 2 others I can't recall their names?? Great song but what does it mean? |
Bob Dylan – All Along the Watchtower Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I like what JESPERD said.... I think that when Dylan wrote this song, he was a little bit away from the world of music. I don't know by heart the dates, but in the mid 60's he was in an accident and he retreated from the music for a while. And we know that Dylan doesn't consider himself as a prophet ... so it may be seen that way. |
Savatage – When The Crowds Are Gone Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Fuck man....no way...nobody seems to know savatage!!!!! That is scary...this is maybe the best song ever. If you really want to appreciate more hear the live version. This song is so emotional. This guy wants to have back the lost days when he was in a band and when the crowds used to whorship him.I think that the members of his lost band are dead: All my friends have been crucified They made life a long suicide true Guess we never figured out the rules But I'm still alive and my fingers feel They are now ghosts and if he stays unknown he'll be , maybe, more able to see them. |
Dream Theater – Space-Dye Vest Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This CD was the first one I bought from Dream Theater. I didn't like this CD as much as Scenes from a memory. However this song is so scary. It's difficult to fully understand the background sound and when you are able to code the words you sense a feel that's very weird. I think that this song is about a guy who gave all his heart to a girl and she dumped him: Now that you're gone I'm trying to take it And he has tried in vain to regroup himself with a new girl but he can't get over her. So now he's filled with anger, and he feel's that he was betrayed. |
The Beatles – Lady Madonna Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It's about prostitution, I guess. I think that Lady Madonna works as a whore on Friday and Saturday. Friday night arrives without a suitcase means that she does business with men who don't use suitcases, meaning that she prostites. Your stockings needed mending is also an allusion to her work. I don't know how the papers part fits in this theory how ever it must mean something useful. |
Bob Dylan – Mr. Tambourine Man Lyrics | 19 years ago |
My senses have been stripped, my hands can't feel to grip This is surely about drugs!! |
Bob Dylan – License to Kill Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song is about how man can bring himself to destruction. The technology in reaching the moon is facilitating the process. It also says that even if you have a little part to play, you still are a part of the destruction process because it's in the nature of man. However it's unclear what the woman represents. |
Bob Dylan – Tangled Up in Blue Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I like this song a lot but there's a lot of phrases I don't understand 1- Why does she tie the laces of his shoes???? 2- Then he started into dealing with slaves And something inside of him died. ??? What does that mean???? |
Bob Dylan – Ballad of a Thin Man Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I've listened to Dylan for about a year now and I just love his songs. If I didn't find this site I would have never known what this song meant!!!! I think that the gay stuff is more realistic than the cheating thing. The phrase : You put your eyes in your pocket And your nose to the ground There ought to be a law Against you comin' around is a perfect discription of a penis and a condom!!!! But can anybody explain me what does that mean: Anyway they already expect you To just give a check To tax-deductible charity organizations |
