Trivium – Dying in Your Arms Lyrics 19 years ago
Well, anyways, what does everyone think about the meaning? I stared at it for a while and found all sorts of the usually cliche-ridden lyrics. But after some careful analysis I think it's about a girl that is playing with this dude's heart. He still likes her but it realizes he is getting played around with. She is holding the rope that is tied around his neck, the rope that is slowly choking him. But she is stuck in his heart and he can't get her out. He also realizes that he'll never be able to escape the leash-noose around his neck, he (literally or figuratively) cuts his heart out at the end to set himself free from her, accelerating the process that she is making him go through. That's my interpretation.

Trivium – Dying in Your Arms Lyrics 19 years ago
Yeah, this does sound like a harder version of some Hoobastank songs...but it's still cool. Very catchy. At least where I'm from they don't play it on the radio all the time, or it WOULD be officially classified as a radio song and I think I would enjoy it less. But props to Trivium to break away from their traditional style and experiment with something new. It still sounds great and signifies them as one helluva talented and multi-faceted band.

Stone Temple Pilots – Art School Girl Lyrics 19 years ago
When I look at these lyrics I envision a psychotic locked up in a psychiatric hospital. The lyrics are the story he invents about a girl he obsesses about. And he goes nuts (hence the brashness of the chorus) when the hospital docs ask him to explain his obsession.

Metallica and Megadeth were equals back in the day, but now Megadeth is by far the better band.

Collective Soul – Run Lyrics 19 years ago
I think he's now an independent person and realizes that "growing up" wasn't what it was really cracked up to be. He longs for the times when he was a child, when he was immersed in innoncence. Perhaps he had all these big plans when he was younger, and now he's realized that he's at the age at which he wanted these plans to happen, and they haven't and never will. The "processed sanity" is possibly maturing; when deep down everyone really wants to be a child again and longs for their younger years.

Snow Patrol – Run Lyrics 19 years ago
Damn...what a catchy song. There can't be one person out there that doesn't enjoy it. Anyways, I thought I'd put in my two cents. I think everyone can have their own interpretation of the lyrics regardless of what Snowpatrol truly intended; that's the beauty of expressing yourself artistically. You try to find a connection to the song.

Now, it could be about drugs, family, suicide, or a long-distance relationship. After countless hours of analysis (I've got it playing on repeat on my Winamp right now -- what can I say, I'm addicted!) I would have to agree with the long distance opinion. I think that when he says "Light up, light up" it might allude to his girl crying profusely to the fact that they will soon be apart for a long time, possibly forever. I believe the song is him trying to convince her that they should run away. "I know we'll make it anywhere/Away from here." I picture them sitting on a bed, spending their last moments together. During his whole attempt to convince her, she knows that she can't go away with him, for whatever reason. When he says "Louder, louder," he's talking about the man in the song getting excited about running away as he tells her all about what their future lives could be like together. He asks her "Why you can't raise your voice to say" -- he is wondering why she isn't speaking up and agreeing with him. Finally, when the lyrics are "Slower, slower" (which do not appear in the lyrics above!), the guy in the song slows down his excited speech and comes to terms with the fact that they will never be together again. Sometimes love can't win.

That seems like the most plausible explanation to me. I deduced this after reading all of the above posts, so thanks to you guys for sparking my creative fire.
