Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – In This Home on Ice Lyrics
| 18 years ago

ice breaks some times. fragile, kinda hard to stand on, let alone build a home on.
perhaps about a very confusing, shaky relationship (not necessarily a romantic one.) at least the first two stanzas, maybe. |

the blue, is a place of absolute truth.
where words don't just represent feelings.
and the narrator wants to help, but just wastes his time |

Sunny Day Real Estate – Seven Lyrics

wasn't there some bizarre conflict between band members that had to do with whether Jeremy was changing the lyrics from "the secret voice of dawn" to "the secret voice of god" when he sang? |

Against Me! – Impact Lyrics

should be:
This ISN'T advancement, this is entertainment.
don't let song lyrics become your text books, further your own understanding. self-educate. live, don't be told how to. |

The Presidents of the United States of America – Kitty Lyrics

|
its actually "lost in his little yellow round die?"
check the lyrics at www.presidentsrock.com
like most of the songs on this album,
i think this one is poking fun at the sometimes overly serious music of the early-mid 90's. and also, you can't avoid the almost creepy sexual interpretation of it that most presidents songs have. |

Sex Pistols – Anarchy in the U.K. Lyrics
|
truthfully, i've always equated "punk" (be it the music, "movement" or fashion statement) with some definition Nihilism, or at least an ideal which views all actions, objects, and ideas as useless.
When i started listening to various "punk" acts it seemed apparent that they were about wasting time, about wallowing in narcissism and about reflecting and mocking society. instead of choosing to rebel and reform a "punk" would smear his image in vile slogans and 'shocking' hairstyles and parade around infront of "upstanding" citizens to mock their seriousness, and to fufill his role as an incarnate example of society and it's supposed wrong doings.
whatever, i hope this is understandable. i need a cigarette, and in regards to the song. i say, you're all a bunch of twats. |

Radiohead – How Do You? Lyrics

reminds me of The Sex Pistols. Thom Yorke has a Johnny Rotten-esque delivery
especially with lines like: "And he was a stupid BABY / Turned into a powerful freak" and "He's a dangerous BIGOT / But we always forget" |

about portland oregon? i visted there a little while ago, and it just seemed to fit the city, not only the lyrics but the entire song echoed the lonely feeling that the city can give you. |

Elliott Smith – Pretty (Ugly Before) Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
perhaps "sunshine been keeping me up for days" is a reference to cocaine. "and i'll feel pretty another hour or two" also sounds like a blatant drug reference to me. although most elliott smith music probably can't be disected that easily. a great song though. |
