Feist – Leisure Suite Lyrics 15 years ago
no, it's totally about sex. also because "in my leisure suite" sounds like "in my lit, je suis", which is franglais for "i'm in bed". if she intended it to sound like that, it's a pretty amazing play on words!

Camera Obscura – Razzle Dazzle Rose Lyrics 17 years ago
the best part of this song is clearly the fact that they're singing about a flourescent crayola crayon colour available from 1990-1992. it totally reminds me of elementary school, and i love that. it was my favourite crayon!

The Strokes – What Ever Happened? Lyrics 17 years ago
I have heard that "Tennessee" refers to Tennessee Thomas, the drummer for The Like. She apparently used to date Julian Casablancas. I think this fits the context of the song better, no?

Jimmy Eat World – Polaris Lyrics 19 years ago
Gare du Nord is one of the train stations in Paris, where trains from Belgium, the Netherlands, the north of France, and England (the Eurostar) come in.

When I first heard this song, I was living in Paris and couldn't believe my ears. JEW has been one of my favorite bands for years, so I loved how they referenced my favorite city in this amazing song.
