The song is about a woman finding out that her man has been cheating and she handles it in a very self-controlled, strong way. It's a good song to listen to if you're in this situation. And it's also really catchy, too. |

It's clearly about a relationship going pear-shaped and there's a lot of crying and heartbreak involved. I love this song, it's one of my all-time favourites. Maybe one day i'll even check out Prince's version! But the Stereophonics have done a cover of this, too and it's fantastic. |

This is my favourite Maroon 5 song! It's so beautiful and the lead singer is just so gorgeous. I love those eyes! I love this band, and their whole sound. 'Songs About Jane' is a great album and there's a few really great tracks on there.
'She Will Be Loved' is about a guy who's going out with this girl, but he's in love with her mum. He sings it to the girl's mum but passes it off as if it was written for the girl he's in a relationship with. In the video to this, he sleeps with the chick's mum and at the end they end up together.
It's a bit of a controversial subject but it is a beautiful song, and the lead singer has a beautiful voice. |

I love this song, and i love singing it. It's about a couple staying together against all the odds and against what people say about them. Shania sings about the relationship surviving despite everything and that both people are still so in love. It's a really sweet song.
Shania Twain is the only Country singer i really like, apart from Patty Griffin and then that's only because of the song, 'Sweet Lorraine' which reminds me of someone i know called Lorraine.
'You're Still The One' is a pretty song and the album this song comes from, 'Come On Over', in my opinion, is her best so far. |

I like this song. I really am warming to the Scissor Sisters with each song they do. I wasn't sure about 'Take Your Mama Out' but now i like that, too. And i couldn't stop singing 'Laura' when that came out.
'Mary' is less upbeat, and it actually sounds like something Elton John could have sung but it has a moden twist. It's different from the last two singles. I like it, and i think the lead singer is rather gorgeous. It's the blue eyes!
I think this song was written for a friend advising them about relationship difficulties and reassuring them that they'll always be there for them if they need them to be. |

I really like this song! This is my favourite song by Norah Jones. It's just such a chilled-out, relaxing song with such a nice vibe. It really sets a specific mood. It's all calm, platonic and passive. It's really nice...it's like a massage in song form!
I love Norah's voice, and i love how she brings artistic creativity to another level just by maintaining that subtle level of simplicity in her work. 'What Am I To You?' is a great song that makes me feel all warm inside.
It's about a girl who's not quite sure where she stands with a guy...it's all fairly simple but that's why it's great. |

This is perhaps my favourite song by Alanis Morisette. I am a big Alanis fan and i just love the video to this with the three crazy Alanis's in the car!
However, most of the 'ironic' examples she mentions in the song just seem so downright unfortunate and not really ironic, but hey, irony can sometimes be unfortunate!
It's a good shout-along song and the lyrics make you think. I think 'Jagged Little Pill' is her best ever album and i love all the songs from it. |

This is such an inspirational song. I loved it the first time i heard it, and i do believe it was the second single she released from her album, 'Stripped'.
I love the way it's so encouraging, and supportive. The song says that it doesn't matter what you look like, what your sexuality is, or the way you live your life. There is a place in the world for everyone and everyone's beautiful in their own special way. I think this is a very positive message to be honest and i think Christina Aguilera handled it well. She has such a powerful voice and she conveys a strong message. I admire her. |

This song reminds me so much of the Summer of 2003. I had a circle of really close friends back then and we were always looking out for each other and we had a great time. There were hard times, but also some really great times. And a song we used to sing a lot around that time was 'I'm OK' by Christina Aguilera.
Since then, things have changed quite a lot. We hardly see each other anymore but they still mean a lot to me and that makes me sad. I sometimes feel angry with them just for pointless things that don't matter. But i heard this and instantly felt it was what i wanted to say to them.
I wanted to say i'm not OK. And some things still hurt me...but they don't hurt me anymore. I love them, and i miss them. But i don't think they really understood me the way i thought they did. Or maybe they understood me too much and that was the problem.
So that's what the song means to me. This was also the first My Chemical Romance song i ever heard and i loved it then and i still love it now. It really is a great song and makes me feel all tingly. My favourite bit is 'Well i'm not OK, i'm not O fucking K!' because the singer sounds so pissed off and i like the way you can hear it in his voice. |

I'm not really into this type of music, however, i can't deny that Outkast always make you want to just dance like a mad thing. I prefer 'Hey Ya' to this song. I think this is about some stuck up girl who thinks she's great...and maybe she looks great...but she's ugly on the inside. It's like the guy's saying he wants a real girl who's down to earth and all the good things a person should be.
I think some of their lyrics are offensive. As a feminist, i think people need to stop referring to women as 'bitches'. It's just disrespectful and plus, there's loads of things these girls can say back which those silly little boys may not be able to handle. |

I loved 'Josie And The Pussycats' and if Tara Reid and the others had been a band i have a feeling they'd have done so well, they look great together. They could have been that pop-rock female band everyone loved. Like mini Courtney Love's! Unfortunately, on the credits it says that the songs were sung by a different band. I'm not sure who, though.
However, great film, great soundtrack. Particularly this song. I think 'Spin Around' is about spontaniety, and living your life to the fullest you can. It's a fun song and it's just a shame they weren't a real band. |

Eminem always seems to tell it like it is. Particularly on 'The Eminem Show' which is a lot more mature than his previous albums. 'Sing For The Moment' is about taking every chance, i think. Eminem's expressing his viewpoint and this song opened my mind to his world and the way he see's things. He handles criticism well in that he channels all the energy it gives him into his music and it's all fuel for his fire.
I think he's a clever lyricist. This song's almost like a 'two fingers up' to the media which can be narrow-minded. Society is too quick to judge people like Eminem. I can see why some people idolise him. |

I don't know what this song is about for sure but i just skimmed the lyrics and it seems to me it might be about accepting someone the way they are with all their imperfections because they are a friend. And the line 'I don't have a gun' may suggest that they don't mean any harm to this friend and won't hurt them.
I'm not an avid Nirvana fan, and i see that this has turned into another 'Did he jump or was he pushed?' debate where you all ponder about how he died. But if Kurt's the amazing musician you all say he is, then why can't you just remember him for his musical talent rather than the way he died? It seems a shame that's all anyone talks about when they talk about Kurt Cobain. And don't forget Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic were also actually in the band, too. It was never a one-man show.

Wow, what a beautiful song! The lyrics are lovely, but Matt Bellamy's voice does funny things to my insides, haha. He's absolutely bloody gorgeous, isn't he? Those eyes are just so intense. He has a penetrating gaze...woah, i've come over all unnessecary.
Anyway, Matt's gorgeousness aside...great song. Fantastic vocals and still that haunting Muse signature sound that seems to make an appearance on a lot of their songs. I like that. Muse are a unique band with a unique sound...you just can't compare them to anyone else, really.
'Unintended' is a sad song and dramatic in all the right places. I think it's probably about a relationship which has fallen apart leaving one half of the couple aching with this strong love. You can hear the longing and the pain in Matt's voice and that just makes me want to shag him even more. |

I think this song probably is about Kurt Cobain, actually. I'm guessing it was released after he died. And you can almost feel how much Courtney is hurting because of the emotion in her voice. I think the bit about 'doll parts' is hinting at the fact she probably felt so fake, and easy to break apart at the time. And she just wants to feel really good again...i'm not sure who she's talking to when she sings, "Someday you will ache like i ache", though.

I'm not sure what it was written about but it means something to me...i guess you could say i made my own meanings up. My own meaning is in relation to sex that is forbidden between two people who aren't supposed to be together. The first verse reminds me of somebody close to me.
Reading the lyrics again, it probably is about rape, the metaphors have suddenly become clear. But it's a great song anyway. I think it's probably one of Hole's best songs. |
