Subterranean Masquerade – Six Strings to Cover Fear Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This lyrics are complete, here's whats missin: "..Can't see for miles I want to stay right here till' the end of time Till' the tears will dry and the Earth will stop spinning I want to stay right here and hear you cry again - Don't leave me here, don't go away!" |
Sleepytime Gorilla Museum – FC: The Freedom Club Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Obviously, this song is about the Unabomber, Ted Kaczynski. "Wooden boxes [...] filled up with fire", refers to the bombs he made. His trademark was incasing the explosives with wood. 'Ship of fools' is a short story he wrote. Hmm, the rest is pretty much self-explanatory |
Bob Dylan – It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
My favorite Dylan song. Too lazy to explain it, though. |
David Bowie – Always Crashing in the Same Car Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Whoa, First to comment. Imo, this is the best song in the album. The production is so brilliant and different than the other songs. Just pops out of nowhere and it feels so liberating (How lame can I be?). Not much to say about the lyrics though. Guessing it's about self-destruction. That's all there's to it. |
David Bowie – Life on Mars? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I always thought this song is about being bored and feeling as if the world has nothing to offer. "But the film is a saddening bore For she's lived it ten times or more" And so, she wonders about different, interesting planets. "Is there life on Mars?" That's for the first part of the song. I never quite figured out the second verse. Unlike the first, it is written in first person (Duh). The speaker seems to be criticizing the modern world, he dislikes the way everything keeps recycling itself. Worst of all, he’s part of that machine. Perhaps he’s the one who made the film the girl had watched. “"But the film is a saddening bore 'Cause I wrote it ten times or more It's about to be writ again As I ask you to focus on ..."” Bowie creates a connection between the consumer and the producer, revealing they are just tools with no way to escape. they could only dream of a better life. ah I might be way-way-way off |
Pixies – Wave of Mutilation Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"The first verse is about the phenomenon, where japanese businessmen were putting their whole family in the car and driving off the dock. The second verse features the Marianas Trench." - Frank Black in SELECT, october 1997. |
Pixies – Here Comes Your Man Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Frankly, I believe this is the best Pixies song. The ultimate combination between beautiful and interesting lyrics (About the A-bomb) and a pop tune that gets to you. Obviously, underneath the screams and noise there is a pop writer, and “Here come you man” reveals its full potential. |
