U2 – Mysterious Ways Lyrics

I think this song is about a two peoplewho share the same religious faith. A young man, maybe 18,19, early 20s and a slightly older more experianced woman. The young man is just barly learning about love between man and woman and the woman possible already has had a few broken relationships. These two are good friends and the woman is tring to teach this young man about love. I think the young man has a attraction for the woman and she probably plays a little on that because she is looking for love too but not from him. "She's slippy, You're sliding down, She'll be there when you hit the ground" I also think that the woman tries to teach him about Gods love too. Even though the young man dosent understand everything now when he learns it through experiance latter on in life, he will remember what she told him and it will be something that he can stand on latter in life. But the very fact that the woman is more mature than the young man and that she is not showing the same attraction to him as he shows to her, makes her seem mysterious to him. I can relate to the song because I have had a very identical experiance in my past.

I think that shorty415 has gotten closer to the true meaning of the song than anyone. I also think that it is about the dalemas between youth and their parents. Except I dont think it is about war time. I think it's about how some teen agers treat their parent like crap! "In vilent times" I think is about the screaming matches that bull-headed teenagers have with parents. That is why the song is called shout. I think the song is a mirror of much of society today. I dont think that many children these days are bering reared to respect their parents or any kind of athority figure for that matter. What happend to "Yes Mamm, No Mamm" Or "Sir"? Saddly I think is a reflection on the parrents who do not know how to rais their kidds and spend more time tring to be their friend and appeasing them instead of tring to be their parrent and rais them right. All the affect of selfish people wanting too many divorces and I include myself.

I think this song is about every single one of us. We all have that part of us to want to make it to the top or in some how control the environment that we live in. I believe that this desire shows no prejudice, from the poorest with few belongings to the rich with the power that their mony gives them. It seems that we all want power and want to get ahead. From runnig to get ahead of next guy in a food line, to a country making "strategic" decisions inorder to take advantage of a lesser neighbor country. If given the chance I think we would all want to rule the world. I think this song is all about the darker part of humanity that is always trying to getting ahead of your fellow man. And for the record. I do not think that absolutlly every body is like this, just most of us. Great song

I think it is about one of thoes rare extreamly attractive woman that has a bit of wild nature and feels that she has the world in her hand because she basicly gets what ever she wants. She has a huge ego becsuse of the way men submit to her and because of this she has a extream selfconfidence everywhere she goes and it can even be seen in the way that she walks, even though it is not a true one. I always thought that it was about a man married to a woman who continually goes off and cheats on him, "and you give yourself away.." but he loves her too much or is so co-depentant on her that he does not want to leave her. She gives him all the surface love and a married life to him, "you gave it all but I want more..." but he longs for her complet love from her heart, not a shared love. But then one day I thought of something. If I were to imagine God singing this song to his Church, the Body of christ, it would sound very fitting because many of us go to church to worship God on Sunday But we then leave and live like the devil the reast of the week. If Christ is in your heart then you belong to God but when we live a luke warm life so to speak, I can almost hear Jesus saying, "I cant live with or without you..." A heart cry from Jesus to his church.
