Tool – Eulogy Lyrics 21 years ago
First and foremost, I would like to thank decreene for his remark. If every one here is 'open minded', why do you mock my conclusion so much?

I apologize if I came across a little vague in my last conversation. What I was trying to get across was a message to all the Christians who read this in search of this songs meaning. The message is - Tool is a band that catches you by the cool songs, draws you into to the lyrics by making them "more than face value", then hooks you into 'forming your own ideas', which are in fact their ideas. The deversion here is, when in fact we do come to the conclusion of the song's underlined meaning, we are told 'Tool is so much deeper than that.' The constant questioning of the music and it's meaning keeps you drawn in. If Maynard was to come out and actually explain his music, would you still be so intrigued? Of course not, it would no longer be a 'quest for meaning.' Once you begin to 'explore' the music and it's lyrical content you are succumed to whatever they want you to think.

I am also trying to make clear that tool dabbles in the occult (http://homepage.mac.com/mikegeorge/toollyrics/preview.html). Before you defend this band, research everything they stand for. But I'm sure, 99.5% of you won't bother to research this bands links to 'sacred geometry' or drummer Danny's claim to have summoned a demon. It's easier to defend lies than acknowledge the truth.

In conclusion, I am just trying to heed warning to anyone, not just Christians, that music is a power tool of communication. Contained withing the catchy guitar riffs, sweet drum breaks, and the melodic harmony of one's voice is a message...

To me, this song speaks complete blasphemy. I used to be a big tool fan, until I heard this song. Don't get me wrong, the music is awsome, you won't find another band like tool. But being a Christian, I can't listen to a man that was created by God speak this way about his Son. I believe Maynard grew up in a Christian environment, it didn't meet his needs, so rebelion was the only way to comfort his feelings. Maynard, like others, is struggling to find some other humanistic way of dealing with the question "Who are we, and where did we come from?".
I disagree with ic_assasain, Christians should not listen to this song. I would like to say this to all who is reading: If you are a Christian, really consider dropping this band from your record collection. I really bought into this stuff for a while. Beware, preachers aren't always in a pulpit, they can have a microphone and a few guitars and still get the strongest message into your head. Many speak against preaching, but have you ever attended a Tool concert. Did you ever notice, it's not like any other concert. There is an underlined message to it all ... you just have to choose to see past the obvious.
For those that think I am trying to sell Jesus, hear me out before you scoff and say I follow a "make-believe God". Is it not obvious to you that you are sold on something? Maynard has sold you his ideas, a single man, and yet so many people have bought into his way of thinking. Are you really "thinking for yourself?" Manyard has become your mortal maytyr. So don't tell me you don't follow anything, the wolf lurkes in sheeps clothing.

Nirvana – Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam Lyrics 22 years ago
Kurt is guilt stricken and is pretty much rejecting Jesus for all the wrong in his life. "Don't expect me to cry, For all the reasons you had to die. Don't ever ask your love of me." He is talking about Jesus' crusifiction and how he won't cry for the reasons HE had to die. Kurt, like many others, was not shown the true reason Jesus died for us. Its easier to blame God for all the pain in the world, than to except his way of life. I know, I know, you're sitting there and saying "if God is so great, why is everything in the world so wrong?" The fact is, that Jesus loves you and me. God made you, made me. He did not "program us to be godly". God gave us a free will. God doesn't owe us anything, we owe him our lives. That's where people go wrong, blaming God and saying He "owes us". Have you ever heard the true word of Jesus Christ? Check out this web-site for more info on this, by far this is the most straight up website that doesn't pull any punches or sugar coats anything. No lie. The most intense experience of you life, just give it a chance and don't go in there with your guard up.

Nirvana – Rape Me Lyrics 22 years ago
Contrary to popular belief, Kurt did not kill himself. He was murdered, plain and simple. You people that think he commited suicide need to read up. Read the reports that aren't "mainstream". But, what can I say, the people that believe he commited suicide probably only listened to Smells Like Teen Spirit and think they have the right to call themselves "Nirvana fans". Don't fret boys and girls, maybe you haven't been exposed to the truth. I'll give you a link; see if you don't change your mind about his death.

This is just one of many links supporting that Kurt was MURDERED.
Next time, do some research before you say that he took his own life.
