Stop with the Maynard comparisons; it's getting sickening. He is not "Maynard II". Why? Because he only slightly sounds like Maynard on the chorus to Get Away. The lyrics to this song are absolutely NOTHING like The Grudge. After hearing all this "Earshot are Tool ripoffs" crap, I have to wonder how many people actually LISTEN to both bands. They thought "isnt it funny how people pay money to have the shit scared out of them?". they were really against the hippy stuff(look where they came from... ashton) so they decided to start writing scary music. now onto the song. geezer was really interested in the occult. ozzy had stolen some book(something to do with spells or something, i dont remember) and given it to geezer on his birthday. geezer put it in a drawer. later that night when he was asleep he woke up to see this shadow above him. the shadow suddenly disappeared. geezer, knowing it was because of the book, rushed to the drawer to get rid of it. it wasnt there. the next day geezer told ozzy and the next day ozzy came back with the lyrics. they called it black sabbath and eventually decided to call their band that. |
